Arusberita.id – Presiden RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi) menghadiri Puncak Peringatan Hari Natal Nasional Tahun 2023 di Graha Bethany Nginden, Kota Surabaya, Jawa Timur, Rabu (27/12/2023) malam.
Dalam sambutannya, Presiden meminta agar seluruh masyarakat memaknai Natal dengan penuh kasih sayang dan persaudaraan.
“Puji dan syukur kita panjatkan kepada Tuhan Yang Mahakuasa bahwa kita bisa menikmati suasana Natal ini dengan penuh kedamaian, dengan penuh persaudaraan, dan dengan penuh kasih sayang,” ucap Presiden.
Beliau juga mengimbau semua elemen masyarakat agar dapat tetap hidup rukun di tengah perbedaan yang ada. Menurut Presiden, perbedaan merupakan hal yang wajar dalam kehidupan modern saat ini.
“Kita ingin terus memberikan contoh kepada dunia bahwa keberagaman itu adalah hukum alam yang tidak terhindarkan, bahwa perbedaan agama, perbedaan pandangan, itu akan semakin wajar dalam kehidupan modern sekarang ini. Tetapi pilihan untuk hidup rukun dan penuh kasih sayang adalah sebuah pilihan terbaik yang diajarkan oleh Tuhan kepada kita semuanya, yang harus kita perjuangkan dan harus kita tumbuh suburkan dalam kehidupan bermasyarakat, berbangsa, dan bernegara,” ungkapnya.
Pada kesempatan tersebut, Presiden juga mengingatkan kepada masyarakat untuk tetap waspada di tengah berbagai krisis dan perselisihan antar bangsa yang saat ini sedang melanda banyak negara di dunia.
“Di tengah tantangan kehidupan dunia yang berat, yang ditandai dengan krisis pangan, yang ditandai dengan krisis ekonomi, yang ditandai dengan perselisihan antar bangsa, bahkan ditandai dengan peperangan, kita harus ingat dan waspada. Orang Jawa menyampaikan eling lan waspodo,” kata Presiden.
Presiden Jokowi menilai, perselisihan antar bangsa hanya akan membawa kemunduran peradaban. Sebaliknya, persatuan dan kerukunan memungkinkan sebuah bangsa untuk bisa menapaki kemajuan.
“Kita bangsa Indonesia sungguh beruntung, kita mampu menjaga toleransi dalam keberagaman, dalam kemajemukan, kita juga mampu menjaga persatuan di tengah kebhinekaan, kita mampu menjaga Bhineka Tunggal Ika, dan kita bersyukur memiliki Pancasila,” ujarnya.
Sebagai negara yang majemuk dengan 714 suku dan lebih dari 1.300 bahasa daerah, Presiden menekankan agar segenap elemen bangsa dapat memupuk sikap moderat dalam beragama dan meletakkan kepentingan kebangsaan sebagai bagian dari keimanan.
“Walaupun kita sedang memasuki tahun politik, walaupun sebentar lagi kita akan menyelenggarakan pemilu, memilih anggota legislatif, dan memilih presiden dan wakil presiden, tetapi kita harus terus selalu menjaga toleransi, menjaga persatuan, menjaga perdamaian,” tegas Kepala Negara.
Ia juga menekankan bahwa perbedaan pilihan politik merupakan hal yang wajar dalam demokrasi. Namun di balik perbedaan itu masyarakat perlu memiliki kesadaran terhadap persatuan dan kesatuan demi kepentingan bangsa.
“Perbedaan pilihan politik itu wajar dalam demokrasi, setuju? Tetapi kita dipersatukan oleh kepentingan yang lebih mulia, yaitu menjaga persatuan dan kesatuan, menjaga perdamaian, menjaga kegotong-royongan, menjaga kepentingan kemanusiaan, serta bersama-sama memajukan negara yang kita cintai ini, negara Indonesia,” pungkasnya.
Turut hadir dalam acara ini, antara lain Menteri Koordinator Bidang Politik, Hukum, dan Keamanan (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD, Menteri Pertahanan (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto, Menteri Agama (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi, Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif/Kepala Badan Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, Panglima TNI Jenderal Agus Subiyanto, Kepala Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia (Kapolri) Jenderal Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Gubernur Provinsi Jawa Timur Khofifah Indar Parawansa, dan Wali Kota Surabaya Eri Cahyadi.
