Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) mulai membangun jembatan duplikasi bentang pendek di Pulau Balang di Kalimantan Timur. Jembatan duplikasi ini selain menghubungkan Kota Balikpapan dengan Kabupaten Penajam Paser Utara juga sebagai jalur utama angkutan logistik juga salah satu akses menuju ibu kota negara (IKN) Nusantara.
Ketua Satuan Tugas (Satgas) Pelaksanaan Pembangunan Infrastruktur IKN Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga mengatakan, jembatan duplikasi ini penting untuk melengkapi Jembatan Pulau Balang bentang pendek sekaligus menghubungkan Jembatan Pulau Balang yang sudah selesai pembangunannya.
“Nanti setelah jembatan ini dioperasikan, tentu sangat bermanfaat untuk membantu mengurangi volume lalu lintas yang tinggi, juga sebagai jalur logistik. Jembatan ini bagian dari jaringan konektivitas menuju IKN,” kata Danis dikutip dari Siaran Pers Kementerian PUPR, Selasa (27/6/2023).
Jembatan duplikasi bentang pendek Pulau Balang berada sekitar 500 meter dari jembatan bentang panjang Pulau Balang yang telah selesai pada 2021 lalu. Jembatan duplikasi bentang pendek Pulau Balang dibangun berdampingan dengan jembatan lama sepanjang 470 meter telah rampung pada 2015.
Adapun jembatan duplikasi bentang pendek Pulau Balang dibangun sepanjang 511 meter dengan tipe rangka baja yang terdiri dari 4 pilar di zona laut dan 4 pilar di zona darat.
Konstruksi jembatan mulai dibangun Januari 2023 sesuai kontrak senilai Rp 471 miliar dengan kontraktor pelaksana PT Adhi Karya-Duta-Jakon (KSO). Saat ini progres fisik pekerjaan sudah mencapai 11,6 persen dengan serapan keuangan 25,5 persen.
Danis menuturkan, pembangunan jembatan duplikasi yang menghubungkan Kota Balikpapan dengan Kabupaten Penajam Paser Utara ini sekaligus akan meningkatkan konektivitas Jalan Lintas Selatan Kalimantan yang menjadi jalur utama angkutan logistik di Pulau Kalimantan.
Diketahui saat ini, kendaraan dari Balikpapan menuju Penajam dan akan melanjutkan perjalanan ke Kota Banjarmasin di Kalimantan Selatan dan kota lainnya harus memutar dengan jarak sekitar 80 km dengan waktu tempuh 4 jam.
“Diharapkan dengan dukungan jembatan duplikasi ini akan membantu mempersingkat jarak tempuh, yakni sekitar 30 km dan dapat dilintasi hanya dalam satu jam,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, Kepala BBPJN Kalimantan Timur Reiza Setiawan mengatakan, duplikasi jembatan bentang pendek Pulau Balang akan tersambung dengan jalan tol akses IKN Segmen 5A Simpang Tempadung -Jembatan Pulau Balang sepanjang 6,67 km yang ditargetkan rampung pada 2024.
“Pembangunan jalan tol menuju IKN tersambung dengan Jalan Tol Balikpapan-Samarinda. Jalan ini bagian dari jaringan konektivitas menuju Kawasan Inti Pusat Pemerintahan (KIPP) IKN Nusantara,” kata Reiza.
