Arusberita.id – Menteri Pertanian (Mentan) Amran Sulaiman mengungkapkan, Indonesia bisa kembali swasembada pangan maksimal selama tiga tahun ke depan atau pada 2026.
Dia menuturkan, Indonesia terakhir kalinya mendapat status penghargaan swasembada pangan pada 2017 ketika Indonesia bisa menekan pengadaan beras impor di tahun itu.
“Dua sampai tiga tahun (swasembada pangan), maksimal yah tiga tahun, tapi bisa saja dua tahun,” ujar Amran saat ditemui di Kantor Kementerian Perdagangan, Jumat (27/10/2023).
Hanya saja, kata dia, yang menjadi kunci agar Indonesia bisa swasembada pangan adalah peningkatan produksi dan penyimpangan cadangan pangan.
Fungsi cadangan pangan nantinya akan dipakai ketika produksi dalam negeri menurun. Sementara untuk peningkatan produksi pangan khususnya untuk beras dan jagung, Amran menjelaskan, ada beberapa strategi yang telah disiapkan.
Pertama adalah pihaknya akan mengumpulkan kepala dinas se-Indonesia dari kabupaten hingga provinsi untuk mengetahui detail di mana saja lahan yang bisa ditanam.
Kemudian, pihaknya akan menyediakan bibit yang siap tanam untuk dibagikan kepada petani.
“Mudah-mudahan ada bibit yang tersedia sekarang untuk 50.000 hektar. Siapa yang cepat tanam ada bibit yang disiapkan. Kita harus kejar awal musim hujan ini,” ungkapnya.
Selanjutnya, untuk penyaluran pupuk, pihaknya juga akan memperbaiki distribusinya kepada petani agar bisa tepat sasaran.
“Nanti kita benahi pupuknya. Sederhana sebenarnya, kalau petani berteriak minta pupuk produksi akan turun kalau petani berteriak minta pupuk itu produksi terkendala,” ungkapnya.
Strategi selanjutnya adalah dengan meningkatkan alat dan mesin pertanian atau Alsintan. Mentan Amran menuturkan, saat ini ketersediaan Alsintan secara nasional masih kurang. Walaupun dia belum bisa menyebutkan secara spesifik berapa jumlah total Alsintan yang tersedia, untuk kebutuhannya saja mencapai 50.000 alat.
“Aku sudah cek grafiknya ternyata kurang (Alsintan). Aku lihat grafiknya pada tahun sekian ini menurun, tentu produksi turun. Doakan biar unitnya bisa tambah lagi,” ungkap dia.
Kemudian, dalam rangka menggenjot produksi jagung, pihaknya juga melakukan hal yang serupa. Pihaknya sepanjang tahun ini menargetkan bisa memproduksi jagung sebanyak 300.000 ton jagung.
“Target tersebut aku suruh angkat lagi. Caranya berikan bibit gratis pada petani, jadi mereka ada bantuan pupuk,” tutur Amran.
