Arusberita.id – Presiden RI Prabowo Subianto meminta seluruh kementerian terkait untuk mendukung Kementerian Pertanian sebagai sektor unggulan dalam mengejar target swasembada pangan dalam kurun waktu tiga sampai empat tahun.
“Semua kementerian diminta untuk mendukung seluruh yang dibutuhkan oleh Kementerian Pertanian sebagai leading sectornya untuk kita mengejar swasembada pangan tiga sampai empat tahun ke depan,” kata Menteri Sekretaris Negara (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi usai menghadiri Retret Kabinet Merah Putih di Akmil Magelang, Jawa Tengah, Minggu,
Prasetyo mengatakan bahwa swasembada pangan menjadi program prioritas yang menjadi perhatian utama bagi Presiden Prabowo Subianto.
Menurut Presiden, kata Prasetyo, swasembada pangan merupakan sebuah keharusan, mengingat Indonesia adalah negara agraris yang tidak boleh bergantung dengan negara lain untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan.
“Kita ini negara agraris, tanah kita luas subur. Kita tidak boleh tergantung dengan negara lain untuk masalah kebutuhan bahan pangan,” kata Presetyo mengutip Presiden Prabowo.
Selain swasembada pangan, Prabowo juga menekankan swasembada energi, sehingga seluruh persiapan dari para menteri harus dikerjakan demi mencapai target itu.
Adapun swasembada pangan dan energi menjadi perhatian utama dari Presiden Prabowo Subianto, seperti yang disampaikan dalam arahan pada Sidang Kabinet Paripurna Perdana pada Rabu (23/10). Ia pun meminta kabinetnya bersinergi untuk dapat merealisasikan kedua hal tersebut di era kepemimpinannya selama periode 2024-2029.
Menurut Prabowo, kedua hal itu dibutuhkan berkaca dari kondisi geopolitik global yang masih tidak menentu sehingga kemandirian dari sisi energi dan pangan diperlukan oleh Indonesia agar dapat bertahan di situasi yang masih tidak menentu ini.
“Kita harus swasembada pangan, itu prioritas dasar karena situasi global, perang besar, bisa pecah setiap saat. Kita harus jamin kemampuan kita memberi makan rakyat kita sendiri. Swasembada energi, mutlak,” kata Prabowo di dalam Sidang Kabinet Paripurna Perdana di Kantor Presiden, Jakarta, Rabu (23/10).
Untuk swasembada pangan, Prabowo mengatakan Indonesia memiliki sumber daya alam yang potensial dan sangat banyak. Potensi tersebut saat ini harus bisa dimanfaatkan dengan bijak tanpa keragu-raguan lewat hilirisasi sumber-sumber tersebut.
Ia juga berharap program hilirisasi juga bisa dilakukan oleh para jajaran kabinetnya agar dapat mewujudkan swasembada energi di Indonesia.
