Arusberita.id – Anggota KPU August Mellaz hadir sebagai narasumber pada kegiatan Kick-Off Program dan Diskusi Publik #MudaMemilih dengan tema, “Anak Muda dan Pemilih 2024: Memperjuangkan Masa Depan Indonesia”, yang digelar Kemenpora di Media Center Graha Kemenpora, Jakarta, Rabu (22/11/2023).
Sebagai bagian dari literasi Pemilu 2024, Mellaz menyampaikan beragam hal yang perlu diketahui masyarakat, mulai tahapan daftar pemilih, pencalonan hingga kampanye. Dalam kesempatan ini juga disampaikan bahwa KPU menyelenggarakan pemilu sifatnya reguler 5 tahun sekali. Pemilu menentukan siapa yang akan terpilih, membentuk kebijakan, membuat keputusan dan hal itu akan berdampak pada setiap orang.
Mellaz juga menjelaskan bahwa KPU akan menggelar Deklarasi Kampanye Pemilu Damai pada tanggal 27 November 2023 di Jakarta, serta tahapan kampanye akan berlangsung pada 28 November 2023 hingga 10 Februari 2024.
KPU menyambut baik inisiatif dan program dari Kemenpora untuk memfasilitasi tumbuh kembangnya komunitas-komunitas muda yang bisa mendiskusikan banyak hal terkait persoalan yang relevan dihadapi dan menghadapi momentum Pemilu tahun 2024.
“Kami di KPU berharap dengan semakin semaraknya anak-anak muda, karena asumsinya tidak sekadar urusannya orang tua, tapi mereka sanggup mencari informasi, sanggup mendialogkan kebutuhannya sudah diakomodasi oleh kontestan pemilu dalam visi-misi, konsep maupun programnya,” kata Mellaz.
“Belajar dari pemilu sebelumnya tentang hoaks, SARA yang justru sebetulnya pemilu itu mempersatukan, tapi ini justru ada indikasi memecah belah. Anak muda selain sebagai pemilih dan memang posisinya sangat signifikan jumlahnya, juga kekritisan dan daya mencari informasi yang lengkap menjadi harapan tersendiri, termasuk membantu memfilter isu-isu yang tidak bertanggungjawab,” imbuhnya
Pemilu 2024 itu menjadi salah satu momentum krusial untuk bangsa Indonesia sebagai penegasan komitmen demokrasi. Saat ini adalah momentum bagi anak muda untuk menentukan suksesnya Pemilu 2024.
Sementara Menteri Pemuda dan Olahraga Republik Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo dalam sambutan diskusi mengatakan, Program #Muda Memilih adalah tindak lanjut setelah adanya kesepakatan kerja sama antara Kemenpora dengan KPU.
“Pemilu adalah ruang bagi generasi muda untuk mendapatkan hak untuk menentukan masa depan mereka, tapi hak tentu dibarengi dengan kewajiban, dan kewajiban generasi muda adalah mengawal kinerja setiap pejabat dan pemerintah untuk melayani masyarakat,” papar Dito.
“Ke depan Kemenpora bersama KPU akan banyak berkolaborasi di berbagai platform anak muda baik online dan offline. Tujuan kita adalah membangunkan seluruh anak muda, agar jangan sampai melewatkan momentum lima menit untuk selamanya, karena di TPS itu nanti hanya lima menit, tapi dampaknya itu untuk selamanya,” tegas Dito.
Dalam Program dan Diskusi Publik, #Muda Memilih ini menghadirkan beberapa narasumber, di antaranya Founder OMG Consulting dan Co-Founder Inspigo Yoris Sebastian, Public Affair Lead Think Policy Lutfi Nugroho, Tenaga Ahli Menpora Chaerany Putri serta Koordinator Tim Strategi dan Komunikasi Kebijakan Menpora Wildanshah.
