Seperti dilansir di liputan6.com, Kontingen Merah Putih memiliki 20 wakil di babak utama. Namun, delapan di antaranya sudah harus bertemu unggulan di 32 besar.
Salah satunya adalah ganda putra Kevin Sanjaya/Marcus Gideon. Berstatus pemenang tuan rumah terakhir usai menjuarai edisi 2021, Minions harus melewati duo India Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty jika mau mempertahankan gelar.
Selain Kevin/Marcus, wakil tuan rumah lain yang langsung bersua unggulan adalah Shesar Hiren Rhustavito, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, Zachariah Josiahno Sumanti/Hediana Julimarbela, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emmanuelle Widjaja, dan Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
Kalaupun tidak dipasangkan dengan favorit, wakil Indonesia sudah harus saling sikut di babak pertama. Ganda putri Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto dan Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi merasakan itu.
