Arusberita.id – Menteri Luar Negeri (Menlu) Retno Marsudi mengatakan, Presiden Bank Dunia (World Bank) Ajay Banga dan Direktur Pelaksana Dana Moneter Internasional (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva, memuji pertumbuhan ekonomi ASEAN di tengah melambatnya ekonomi global akibat Pandemi Covid-19 dan perang.
Retno mengatakan, hal tersebut disampaikan IMF dan World Bank dalam pertemuan Pleno Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) Ke-43 ASEAN, Jakarta. “IMF menyampaikan bahwa ekonomi global melambat karena pandemi dan juga karena perang, pertumbuhan hanya 3 persen terendah dalam satu dekade dibanding sebelum pandemi, namun dilihat ASEAN tetap pertumbuhannya tetap tinggi proyeksinya 4,9 persen,” kata Retno usai pertemuan KTT Ke-43 ASEAN yang disiarkan kanal Youtube Sekretariat Presiden, Selasa (5/9/2023).
Retno mengatakan, IMF juga menyebutkan bahwa ASEAN berkontribusi 10 persen pada pertumbuhan ekonomi global. “Dan disebutkan ASEAN dapat menjadi contoh dari kerja sama global,” ujarnya. Di samping itu, Retno mengatakan perdagangan negara-negara di kawasan ASEAN tumbuh mencapai 3,9 triliun dollar AS atau Rp 59.553 triliun (kurs Rp 15.270 per dollar AS). Data tersebut diperoleh Menlu dari ASEAN Secretary.
Retno mengatakan, hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa ASEAN memiliki potensi ekonomi yang sangat besar. “Perdagangan ASEAN tumbuh 14,9 perden mencapai 3,9 triliun dollar AS, FDI atau Foreign Direct Investment mencapai 222 miliar dollar AS, ini membuktikan bahwa ASEAN memiliki potensi ekonomi yang sangat besar,” tuturnya.
Tak hanya itu, perdagangan antar negara ASEAN naik mencapai 22,3 persen. Retno mengatakan, hal tersebut menjadi bukti hubungan perdagangan negara-negara ASEAN semakin solid.
“Perdagangan internal ASEAN naik 22,3 persen dan ini juga membuktikan hubungan dagang internal ASEAN semakin solid,” kata dia. Lebih lanjut, Retno mengatakan, pemberlakuan perjanjian perdagangan bebas atau RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) diharapkan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi di kawasan ASEAN. “Dan pemberlakuan RCEP diharapkan akan makin mendorong pertumbuhan ASEAN,” ucap dia.
