Arusberita.id – Bank Indonesia dan Bank Sentral Korea Selatan sepakat untuk memanfaatkan mata uang masing-masing dalam transaksi perdagangan, investasi, maupun keuangan. Termasuk untuk sistem pembayaran.
Kesepakatan ini tercipta seusai Gubernur Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo dan Gubernur Bank Korea Rhee Chang Yong menggelar pertemuan tingkat tinggi di Nusa Dua, Bali, Minggu, 10 Desember 2023. Pertemuan itu khusus membahas local currency transaction (LCT).
“Bank Indonesia dan Bank of Korea telah sepakat untuk membentuk kerangka kerja pedoman operasional untuk mengimplementasikan LCT, yang nota kesepahamannya telah kita tandatangani pada Mei 2023,” kata Perry seusai pertemuan.
Kerangka kerja pedoman pengimplementasioan LCT itu ia perkirakan rampu lng pada 2024. Pada tahun itu, Korea dan Indonesia pun siap membuang dolar pada saat bertransaksi perdagangan, investasi, hingga keuangan atau finansial. Termasuk transaksi dalam sistem pembayaran.
“Jadi dalam mata uang lokal, sehingga mengurangi rembetan risiko nilai tukar dan menurunkan biaya bisnis maupun biaya pengguna lainnya,” tegas Perry.
“Penggunaan mata uang lokal ini penting untuk mengurangi volatilitas akibat tingginya ketidakpastian global saat ini di kawasan dan wilayah kedua negara,” ungkapnya.
Melalui implementasi kerangka kerja sama LCT ini, perdagangan antarnegara dapat menggunakan kuotasi nilai tukar secara langsung yang disediakan oleh bank Appointed Cross Currency Dealer (ACCD) sehingga memberikan opsi bagi dunia usaha dalam melakukan transaksi perdagangan dan meningkatkan efisiensi transaksi.
“Hal ini akan meningkatkan efisiensi dan memperkuat stabilitas ekonomi makro, dan sekarang saya yakin inisiatif ini akan semakin meningkatkan kerja sama keuangan antara Korea dan Indonesia,” ucap Perry.
Gubernur Bank of Korea Rhee Chang Yong menekankan, kesepakatan ini juga tidak hanya bermanfaat bagi Indonesia dan Korea saja, melainkan juga dengan ASEAN dan Asia secara keseluruhan. Seban transaksi mata uang lokal akan lebih saling terintegrasi.
”Indonesia dengan wilayah dan populasi yang besar, memegang peranan penting dalam rantai pasok global sektor-sektor maju seperti baterai dan kendaraan listrik. Terlebih, minat bisnis Korea di Indonesia juga terus menunjukkan peningkatan,” ucap Rhee
Kedua bank sentral juga berkomitmen untuk mengimplementasikan kerangka kerja sama LCT dalam rangka memperkuat perdagangan lintas batas, meningkatkan stabilitas pasar keuangan regional, dan memperdalam pasar mata uang lokal di kedua negara.
Inisiatif ini juga sejalan dengan upaya integrasi keuangan sejumlah negara di kawasan untuk memfasilitasi penggunaan mata uang lokal secara lebih luas.
