Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mengungkapkan menginginkan gedung istana kepresidenan yang bukan peninggalan kolonial atau penjajah. Hal itu merupakan salah satu alasan pembangunan istana di Ibu Kota Nusantara, Kalimantan Timur.
Ia meminta agar seluruh peserta yang hadir mengunjungi Istana Negara di IKN. Supaya bisa melihat transformasi yang terjadi pada kawasan pusat pemerintahan itu.
“Tolong naik ke Istana dilihat Ibu Kota Nusantara ini seperti apa ke depan akan terjadi transformasi seperti apa,” katanya ketika memberikan sambutan acara Groundbreaking Kantor BPJS Kesehatan di IKN, Jumat (1/3/2024).
Menurut Jokowi dari posisi daratan tertinggi di IKN itu nantinya akan terlihat perubahan dan visi dari pembangunan IKN ini. Selain itu itu Jokowi juga mengatakan keinginan agar memiliki gedung istana kepresidenan yang bukan peninggalan kolonial.
“Saran saya dicoba (Lihat dari Istana), di sana akan kelihatan berapa sekarang ini memang kita ingin memiliki gedung presiden yang bukan peninggalan dari kolonial,” terangnya.
“Kita bangun sendiri, dengan bahan-bahan produk kita sendiri, dilakukan oleh bangsa sendiri,” sambungnya.
Sehingga dengan cara itu menurutnya akan memunculkan sebuah kebanggaan, harga diri bangsa, juga kepribadian. Hal ini juga akan memberikan citra dari mata internasional terhadap budaya dan kepribadian bangsa.
“Kadang-kadang saya mendapat tamu entah presiden, atau perdana menteri masuk ke istana. Kemudian bertanya ‘wah gedungnya bagus ya’. Saya nggak bisa jawab apa-apa karena memang itu peninggalan dari kolonial Belanda. Di Bogor juga sama, di Yogyakarta juga sama, di Cipanas juga sama,” kata Jokowi.
