Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo atau Jokowi mengharapkan Perhimpunan Bangsa-Bangsa Asia Tenggara atau ASEAN dapat menjadi teladan toleransi dan persatuan, di tengah kondisi dunia yang tidak baik-baik saja.

Jokowi menyampaikan ini saat membuka ASEAN Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue Conference atau IIDC di Jakarta pada Senin, 7 Agustus 2023.

Menyinggung data soal konflik global yang semakin marak dan kecenderungan dunia yang makin tidak religius, Jokowi dalam pidatonya mengaku yakin bahwa masyarakat ASEAN memiliki semangat keagamaan yang makin meningkat.

“Saya yakin, ASEAN mampu.. bukan hanya menjadi epicentrum of growth, tapi jadi epicentrum of harmony yang menjaga stabilitas kawasan dan perdamaian dunia,” kata Jokowi.

Pengurus Besar Nahdlatul Ulama, bekerja sama dengan Kementerian Luar Negeri, menggagas IIDC yang berlangsung selama dua hari pada pekan ini, sebagai rangkaian konferensi tingkat tinggi atau KTT ASEAN di Jakarta pada September mendatang.

ASEAN IIDC 2023 dengan tema ‘ASEAN Shared Civilizational Values: Building an Epicentrum of Harmony to Foster Peace, Security, and Prosperity’ bertujuan untuk “ikut serta dalam upaya membangun harmoni dan perdamaian dari arah lingkungan agama-agama di tengah dinamika global.”

Ketua Umum PBNU Yahya Cholil Staquf, dalam pembukaan pagi ini, menggaungkan inisiatif ini sebagai “konsolidasi peradaban besar yang dapat mendorong tumbuhnya harmoni, toleransi, dan perdamaian.” Ia mengharapkan hasil dari diskusi ini dapat memiliki pengaruh secara politik karena akan menjadi pertimbangan para pemimpin dalam komunike KTT ASEAN.

ASEAN secara internal tahun ini sibukkan dengan upayanya membereskan krisis Myanmar, di tengah tujuannya untuk menjadi pusat pertumbuhan ekonomi dunia.

Blok juga terjepit di antara kepentingan dua negara besar China dan Amerika Serikat yang membuat kawasan menjadi tegang karena sengketa keduanya dapat membuat negara-negara anggota terdampak langsung.

Sebanyak 200 undangan meliputi partisipan dan pembicara juga telah terkonfirmasi bakal hadir dalam forum tersebut. PBNU menyebut Myanmar, yang dilarang hadir di pertemuan tingkat tinggi ASEAN, akan mengirimkan dua delegasi dan seorang Kepala Pusat Pendidikan Buddhis.

    4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
