Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) menyampaikan bahwa saat ini pemerintah tengah memulai kegiatan penghijauan Kawasan Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN).
Presiden menilai langkah tersebut adalah untuk membangun hutan hujan tropis di IKN dengan tanaman yang beragam.
Hal itu disampaikan Presiden di lokasi Rehabilitasi Hutan dan Lahan Kawasan Inti Pusat Pemerintahan (KIPP), Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN), Kabupaten Penajam Paser Utara, Provinsi Kalimantan Timur, pada hari Rabu, (20/12/2023).
“Yang kedua tadi dan yang ketiga ini adalah dalam rangka membangun kembali reforestasi, penghutanan kembali, penghijauan kembali dalam rangka kita mendapatkan tropical rain forest, dari monokultur menjadi tropical rain forest, dari hanya eucalyptus jadi bermacam-macam jenis pohon, jenis tanaman yang kita tanam seperti yang sekarang kita lihat,” kata Presiden.
Selain itu, kepala negara menekankan bahwa Nusantara dibangun dengan konsep forest city. Presiden menyebut pembangunan di IKN harus mengedepankan penghijauan yang dimulai dari lahan hingga gedung yang dibangun.
“Konsep Nusantara ini kan forest city artinya kawasan ini harus hijau, lingkungan di sini juga harus hijau, dan yang terakhir gedungnya juga harus gedung-gedung yang hijau—green building,” imbuhnya.
“Sehingga ini mulai karena pas musim hujan sudah mulai turun, kita mulai menanam,” katanya.
Sementara itu, tentang penghijauan yang dilaksanakan di area Sumbu Kebangsaan, Jokowi menyebutkan tanaman yang ditanam di sana adalah untuk menghiasi area sekitar Istana Kepresidenan.
“Kalau tadi di lingkungan istana adalah tanaman-tanaman yang berkaitan dengan estetika, tabebuya, ada jakaranda, ada flamboyan, ada semuanya kita tanam di situ, tapi estetika,” ungkapnya.
Lebih lanjut, Presiden menyampaikan bahwa setelah penghijauan Kawasan IKN telah selesai dilakukan, dengan produksi bibit yang cukup banyak dari Persemaian Mentawir, ke depan kegiatan serupa akan dilanjutkan di kawasan luar IKN.
“(Jika) lingkungan kawasan IKN ini sudah selesai, melebar ke luar IKN. Saya kira produksi di Mentawir itu kan 15 juta bibit per tahun, jumlahnya banyak sekali,” paparnya.
