Arusberita.id – Presiden RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mengungkapkan Indonesia membutuhkan pemimpin yang berani untuk menjaga kebijakan-kebijakan yang telah dibuat untuk memajukan bangsa. Di antara kebijakan yang dimaksudkan Presiden Jokowi yakni terkait hilirisasi industri.
“Ke depan saya kira bukan tentang siapa Presidennya, yang paling penting menurut saya sanggup enggak (untuk) konsisten terhadap apa yang sudah kita mulai ini, berani enggak, ini butuh keberanian,” ujar Presiden, dikutip dari keterangan tertulis, Jumat, 11 Agustus 2023.
Presiden menilai keberanian dan konsistensi tersebut diperlukan karena tantangan dan tekanan yang dihadapi oleh Indonesia kedepannya akan makin meningkat. “Nanti butuh yang ke depan karena tekanan-tekanannya menurut saya makin berat, nyali, keberanian. Yang kedua, konsistensi. Konsistensi itu saja butuh daya tahan, butuh endurance,” ucap dia.
Kepala Negara menyebut kebijakan berani yang dilakukan oleh Indonesia seperti hilirisasi industri nantinya akan menghadapi tantangan yang tidak mudah. Presiden mengatakan tantangan itu dapat berdampak terhadap ekonomi nasional sehingga diperlukan konsistensi mempertahankan kebijakan yang telah ada.
Presiden memberi contoh saat Organisasi Perdagangan Dunia atau WTO memenangkan gugatan Uni Eropa soal keputusan Indonesia menyetop ekspor bijih nikel. “Kita enggak akan berhenti meskipun digugat,” tuturnya.
Lebih lanjut, Presiden Jokowi meyakini jika Indonesia bisa konsisten mempertahankan hilirisasi industri dalam beberapa tahun ke depan maka Indonesia bisa menjadi negara maju.
“Hitungan saya, kalau kita konsisten terus seperti ini dalam kurun 15 tahun, tolong dihitung income per capita kita akan naik berapa. Saya yakin di atas USD10 ribu. Artinya sudah masuk ke (kategori) negara maju karena income per capita untuk negara maju kan biasanya di atas USD11 ribu,” pungkas dia.
