Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo berpesan ke Kesatuan Mahasiswa Hindu Dharma Indonesia (KMHDI) agar mempersiapkan diri mempelajari ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (Iptek) terkait “Green Economy” atau ekonomi hijau guna dukung transformasi hijau.
“Dalam mendukung momentum transformasi hijau, saya minta KMHDI untuk mempersiapkan diri mempelajari ilmu pengetahuan tentang ini (ekonomi hijau),” kata Presiden Joko Widodo saat membuka Kongres Nasional Mahasabha XIII Kesatuan Mahasiswa Hindu Dharma Indonesia (KMHDI) 2023 di Universitas Tadulako, Kota Palu, Sulawesi Tengah, Rabu.
Jokowi mengatakan dengan dunia yang saat ini menghadapi berbagai tantangan dan perubahan, salah satunya yakni tantangan perubahan iklim, diperlukan inovasi baru dan keinginan untuk menyongsong perubahan tersebut.
Dalam kesempatan itu, Presiden menyampaikan untuk mempelajari beberapa hal, di antaranya terkait carbon trading (perdagangan karbon), carbon market (pasar karbon), climated entrepreneurship, waste recycling, dan battery technology sebagai upaya mengurangi dampak perubahan iklim.
Ia mengemukakan perubahan iklim hampir dirasakan oleh semua negara saat ini, seperti gelombang panas dan super El Nino yang terjadi di beberapa negara yang menurut dia harus disikapi secara bijak.
Oleh karena itu, menurut Jokowi, semua negara di dunia saat ini berbondong-bondong untuk ikut masuk ke dalam transformasi ekonomi hijau, seperti pembiayaan dan pendanaan, dan green energy atau energi hijau untuk mencegah dampak perubahan iklim.
“Karena itu, saya titip kepada KMHDI untuk menyosialisasikan jaga hutan, jaga air, pengelolaan sampah terutama sampah plastik. Selain itu, mengurangi polusi, karena polusi sudah menjadi masalah besar kita saat ini,” katanya.
Terakhir, presiden menambahkan universitas atau perguruan tinggi juga semestinya harus menyongsong dengan membuat jurusan dan fakultas yang mendukung transformasi hijau.
“Dunia sudah berubah, kita harus memiliki inovasi dan keinginan untuk menyongsong perubahan – perubahan itu,” katanya.
