Arusberita.id – Kepala Badan Pangan Nasional (BPN) Arief Prasetyo Adi menyatakan, perlu terus mendorong petani tebu meningkatkan produksinya saat harga gula sedang bagus.
“Saat ini harga gula sedang bagus, maka dari itu kami berharap petani tebu rajin nandur (menanam). Apalagi, kami sudah berupaya membangun ekosistem pangan, dalam hal ini gula, mulai dari tingkatan petani,” terang Arief Prasetyo, di sela kunjungannya di kediaman Ketua Umum Pusat Koperasi Primer Tebu Rakyat (PKPTR) Kabupaten Malang KH Hamim Kholili, Kamis (4/7/2024).
Dikatakan, ekosistem pangan yang sudah ditata khususnya bagi petani tebu mulai dari hulu, saat tebu yang ditanam, pengolahan produksi menjadi gula, hingga hilirnya.
“Sejak dari tebu yang dihasilkan, harga di tingkat petani kita jaga, sampai menjadi gula dan penjualan di pasaran. Awalnya harga gula tebu dulu masih Rp 9 ribu per kilogram, kini sudah menjadi Rp 14.500 per kilogram. Kan, terus membaik,” tandas Arief.
Sebelum digiling oleh Pabrik Gula, menurutnya petani tebu sudah bisa memastikan, berapa keuntungan hasil produksi tebu yang akan dihasilkan.
“Jadi, sebelum digiling, asosiasi petani tebu sudah menyesuaikan berapa harga yang akan didapat, disesuaikan agro input. Diantaranya melihat cost produksi pengolahan seperti harga pupuk dan lainnya,” jelas Arief.
Menurutnya, para petani tebu di wilayah Kabupaten Malang sudah banyak beralih ke pupuk non-subsidi. Sehingga, mempengaruhi produksi tebu yang lebih baik.
Ke depan, kata Arief, dengan dukungan ekosistem yang tepat dari pemerintah, maka petani tebu akan semakin bergairah menanam, ditambah adanya harga jual yang dipastikan baik dari BPN.
“Dengan dukungan tersebut, para petani nanti diharapkan bergairah meningkatkan produksi, dengan menambah area lahan tanam. Kemudian, diupayakan mencari bibit lebih berkualitas, sehingga rendemen nasional meningkat. Dan, ini bisa dimulai dari Kabupaten Malang,” tandas Kepala BPN.
Sementara itu, Ketua Umum PKPTR Kabupaten Malang, Hamim Kholili menyatakan, petani tebu merasa lebih aman dan diuntungkan, sejak keberadaan Badan Pangan Nasional dengan skema ekosistem pangan yang diwujudkan.
Terlebih, untuk kepastian harga produksi tebu di tingkat petani, cenderung stabil beberapa tahun terakhir, bahkan naik sedikit demi sedikit.
“Dulu sebelum ada BPN, harga jual di tingkat petani kacau, tidak stabil dan berubah-ubah seenaknya,” kata Gus Hamim.
Selain itu, dengan adanya kemitraan asosiasi petani tebu dengan pabrik gula dibawah BUMN, menurutnya petani tebu juga bisa mendapatkan kepastian hasil produksi.
“Dengan kemitraan bersama, petani tebu lebih tenang atas produksi tebu yang dilakukan. Dimana, ada bagi hasil 30 persen untuk direksi (Pabrik Gula) dan 70 persen petani. Penjualannya pun lebih aman, karena direksi bisa jadi off-taker (pembeli) untuk hasil panen tebu petani,” terang Gus Hamim.
Dalam kesempatan kunjungan Kepala BPN ini, ikut hadir pula Ketua Umum DPN Asosiasi Petani Tebu Rakyat Indonesia (APTRI), Soemitro Samadikoen, juga beberapa perwakilan pengurus koperasi tebu dan kelompok tani tebu.
