Arusberita.id – Pemerintah secara resmi menetapkan ‘WHOOSH’ sebagai nama resmi Kereta Cepat Jakarta-Bandung (KCJB). Nama ‘Whoosh’ merupakan singkatan yang memiliki arti sesuai dengan kesan pertama saat menaiki kereta api cepat Indonesia itu.
Nama resmi KCJB diumumkan oleh tim panel sayembara desain identitas jenama (nama dan logo) kereta api cepat Indonesia dan Menteri Perhubungan (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi. Nama ‘Whoosh’ ini disebut dilakukan usai pemerintah menjajal kereta api cepat tersebut.
“Namanya adalah WHOOSH,” ujar Ketua tim panel penilai lomba Identitas Jenama Kereta Cepat Indonesia, Triawan Munaf, dalam konferensi pers, pada Kamis (21/9/2023).
“Nama ini dilahirkan setelah semua merasakan. Jadi ini akan menjadi istilah yang sesuai,” tambahnya.

Ketua tim panel penilai lomba Identitas Jenama Kereta Cepat Indonesia, Triawan Munaf mengungkapkan kepanjangan dari ‘Whoosh’ yang menjadi nama resmi kereta cepat Indonesia itu. Nama ‘Whoosh’ singkatan dari Waktu Hemat, Operasi Optimal, Sistem Handal.
“Whoosh ini memiliki kepanjangan, Waktu Hemat, Operasi Optimal, Sistem Handal. Jadi sangat sesuai sekali,” ungkap Triawan.
Triawan turut menjelaskan arti ‘Whoosh’ sebagai nama Kereta Cepat Jakarta-Bandung. Menurut dia, nama ‘Whoosh’ artinya ‘cepat’, yang mana nama ini sesuai dengan kesan pertama saat mengetahui kecepatan kereta api cepat.
“Whoosh ini dalam bahasa asing artinya ‘cepat’, karena kita mencari nama tidak hanya diterima di dalam, tapi diterima internasional. Kalau di Jepang Shinkansen, sekarang kita punya WHOOSH di Indonesia,” jelasnya.

Siapa Pencetus Nama ‘Whoosh’?
Pada kesempatan yang sama, Menteri Perhubungan (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi bercerita bahwa nama KCJB ‘Whoosh’ itu berasal dari pembicaraan antarpejabat hingga ungkapan kegembiraan masyarakat saat ikut uji coba.
Ketika menjajal moda transportasi itu, ada ungkapan kegembiraan usai merasakan kereta cepat, yakni kata ‘Whoosh’. Kemudian kata itu juga didiskusikan dengan Menteri BUMN Erick Thohir, Menteri Sekretariat Negara Pratikno, hingga Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
“Pencetus, jadi, dalam tiga minggu terakhir kami itu berdialog antara Pak Presiden, Pak Pratik, Pak Erick, saya, Pak Triawan dan kawan-kawan, japri-japrian, diskusi gitu ya, dan bersamaan dengan itu kami juga uji coba dengan Pak Luhut, Pak Edo, jadi memang dikatakan itu ‘siapa kita? Jaya. Nah kalau di sana itu ungkapan kegembiraan begini ngomong ‘whoosh whoosh’,” terangnya.
Kemudian, Budi mengatakan bahwa kata ‘Whoosh’ juga sempat disebut-sebut ketika bersama Jokowi dan Pratikno lagi di lain kesempatan. Kala itu, Budi mengatakan bahwa Jokowi menyebut jika kereta dengan kecepatan sangat cepat namanya ‘whoosh, whoosh’.
“Di lain waktu Pak Pratik, Pak Presiden, saya bergabung, beliau juga mengatakan kalau namanya cepat namanya kan whoosh whoosh gitu kan. Kita cobalah itu,” ujar Budi Karya Sumadi.
Selain itu, diketahui pemerintah saat ini juga tengah berproses membuat sayembara untuk logo ‘Whoosh’, yang menjadi nama resmi Kereta Cepat Jakarta-Bandung. Saat ini sudah terpilih tiga kandidat dengan logo yang berbeda.
