Arusberita.id – Mahfud MD telah resmi dipilih sebagai bakal calon wakil presiden (bacawapres) untuk mendampingi bakal calon presiden (bacapres) Ganjar Pranowo dalam Pemilu 2024.
Ketua Umum PDI Perjuangan Megawati Sukarnoputri mengumumkan hal itu di Kantor DPP PDI Perjuangan, Jakarta Pusat, Rabu (18/10).
“Calon wakil presiden yang dipilih PDI Perjuangan adalah bapak Profesor Doktor Mahfud MD,” kata Megawati Sukarnoputri.
Mahfud akhirnya dipilih dari sejumlah nama yang santer disebut-sebut sebagai kandidat cawapres Ganjar, antara lain Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Sandiaga Uno hingga Ridwan Kamil.
Namun belakangan nama Mahfud makin sering disebut setelah bertemu dengan Megawati pada Rabu (17/10) malam.
Ganjar Pranowo telah dideklarasikan sebagai calon presiden yang diusung oleh PDIP dan Partai Persatuan Pembangunan (PPP) sejak 21 April 2023.
Perindo, yang diketuai Hari Tanoesoedibjo, bergabung untuk mengusung Ganjar pada 9 Juni 2023. Hanura kemudian menyusul pada 29 Agustus 2023.
Rekam jejak Mahfud MD
Nama Mahfud MD telah menguat diisukan menjadi bakal cawapres Ganjar sebelum pengumuman ini.
Mahfud, yang kini menjabat sebagai Menteri Koordinator Bidang Politik Hukum dan Keamanan, memiliki latar belakang Nahdlatul Ulama (NU).
Dalam kontestasi Pilpres kali ini, suara para Nahdliyin sangat diperhitungkan, sebagai organisasi masyarakat dengan basis massa terbesar di Indonesia.
Apalagi, NU juga berbasis di Jawa Timur, yang merupakan kantong suara terbesar kedua di Indonesia.
Mahfud juga pernah nyaris menjadi cawapres Joko Widodo ketika mencalonkan diri pada Pilpres 2019. Namun kala itu, Ma’ruf Amin lah yang akhirnya didapuk mendampingi Jokowi.
Meski gagal menjadi wakil presiden Jokowi, Mahfud ditunjuk menjadi Menkopolhukam.
Sepanjang karirnya, Mahfud pernah duduk di kursi eksekutif, legislatif, dan yudikatif.
Dia terjun ke politik menjadi kader Partai Kebangkitan Bangsa (PKB).
Mahfud juga pernah menjabat sebagai Menteri Pertahanan serta Menteri Kehakiman (2000-2001).
Mahfud terpilih menjadi anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat (DPR) dan duduk di Komisi III serta Wakil Ketua Badan Legislatif (Baleg) pada 2004-2008.
Mahfud kemudian berkarier sebagai hakim konstitusi di Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK). Dia lantas terpilih sebagai Ketua MK meripde 2008-2013.
Setelah itu Mahfud dilantik menjadi Anggota Dewan Pengarah Unit Kerja Presiden Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (2017–2018) dan Anggota Dewan Pengarah Badan Pembinaan Ideologi Pancasila (2018).
Bagaimana elektabilitas Ganjar-Mahfud menurut survei?
Survei Litbang Kompas pada Agustus 2023 menunjukkan bahwa elektabilitas Ganjar jika dipasangkan dengan Mahfud MD adalah 33,9%. Angka itu memang masih di bawah elektabilitas Ganjar-Ridwan Kamil (34,8%) dan Ganjar-Erick Thohir (34,8%).
Namun, nama Mahfud sebagai pendamping Ganjar, lebih memikat bagi para responden dibandingkan Sandiaga Uno dan Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono.
Meski demikian, Litbang Kompas menemukan bahwa nama Mahfud MD memiliki tingkat keterpilihan 3,7%. Itu jauh di bawah sosok lain seperti Ridwan Kamil (8,4%), Sandiaga Uno (8,2%), dan Erick Thohir (8,0%).
Sementara itu, survei Saiful Munjani Research and Consulting (SMRC) pada 20-22 September 2023 meunjukkan bahwa pasangan Ganjar-Mahfud MD unggul di Jawa Timur dengan perolehan suara 45%.
Elektabilitas Ganjar jika disandingkan dengan Mahfud di Jawa Timur, jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan Anies Baswedan dan Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin (12%), yang telah lebih dulu mendeklarasikan diri.
