Arusberita.id – Media asing kembali memuat pemberitaan soal pemilihan presiden (pilpres) RI. Kali ini terkait bakal calon presiden (capres) Prabowo Subianto dan wakil presidennya (wapres) yang sudah terpilih, Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Reuters memuat artikel dengan judul “Indonesia presidential candidate Prabowo picks Jokowi’s son as running mate”. Disebut bagaimana Prabowo memilih Gibran di tengah “kemarahan” yang belum reda di dalam negeri karena keputusan Mahkamah Konstitusi (MK).
“Menteri Pertahanan dan calon presiden Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, pada Minggu mengumumkan putra sulung pemimpin petahana Joko Widodo sebagai pasangannya untuk pemilu tahun depan,” tulis media itu memuat nama lengkap Presiden Jokowi, dikutip Senin (23/10/2023).
“Terpilihnya Gibran Rakabuming Raka, 36, bisa menjadi dorongan bagi kampanye Prabowo karena popularitas Jokowi yang sangat besar, bahkan di tengah kemarahan minggu ini atas keputusan pengadilan untuk mengubah persyaratan kelayakan yang akan menghalangi Gibran untuk mencalonkan diri,” tambahnya.
Kesepakatan yang sudah dibuat Prabowo dengan partai pendukungnya juga dimuat. Komentar Jokowi bahwa ia tidak terlibat dalam kandidat presiden juga dipaparkan.
“Berbicara seusai pertemuan partainya dan mitra koalisinya, Prabowo mengatakan pada konferensi pers bahwa telah ada kesepakatan untuk mencalonkan dirinya sebagai calon presiden dan Gibran Rakabuming Raka sebagai calon wakil presiden,” tulis media itu lagi.
“Pekan ini, Jokowi mengatakan bahwa ia tidak terlibat dalam kandidat presiden, namun orang dalam politik mengatakan bahwa pemimpin yang akan keluar tersebut berusaha untuk mempertahankan pengaruhnya dan diam-diam mengumpulkan dukungan untuk mantan saingannya, Prabowo, setelah sebelumnya tampaknya mendukung Ganjar sebagai kandidat dari PDI-nya,” muat Reuters lagi.
Pendapat analis juga dimuat. Bagaimana, aliansi dengan Gibran disebut dapat mengalihkan sebagian basis dukungan Jokowi kepada Prabowo. Ini juga pada gilirannya bisa meningkatkan peluang Jokowi untuk menentukan warisannya sendiri dengan memastikan penyelesaian program-program ekonomi utama yang ia mulai.
“Orang dalam politik mengatakan pencalonan Gibran adalah cara bagi Jokowi, sebutan umum untuk presiden yang akan keluar dari jabatannya, untuk mempertahankan pengaruhnya dan mengatakan bahwa ia diam-diam mengumpulkan dukungan untuk Prabowo, yang ia kalahkan dua kali untuk memenangkan kursi kepresidenan pada tahun 2014 dan 2019,” tambah media itu.
Sementara itu, hal sama juga dimuat Associated Press (AP) yang dikutip pula oleh ABC News. Keduanya memuat artikel dengan judul “Indonesia’s leading presidential hopeful picks Widodo’s son to run for VP in 2024 election”.
“Calon presiden terkemuka di Indonesia menunjuk putra sulung Presiden Joko Widodo sebagai calon wakil presiden pada pemilu tahun depan di negara demokrasi terbesar di Asia Tenggara,” muatnya juga menggunakan nama lengkap Jokowi.
“Pengumuman pada Minggu malam oleh Prabowo Subianto- mantan jenderal pasukan khusus yang saat ini menjabat sebagai menteri pertahanan- bahwa ia telah memilih Gibran Rakabuming Raka sebagai calon wakil presidennya mengakhiri spekulasi yang berkembang selama berminggu-minggu di media Indonesia,” tambahnya.
Dijelaskan juga sedikit profil Gibran. Bagaimana ia yang masih muda awalnya tidak memenuhi persyaratan usia untuk mencalonkan diri.
Namun putusan MK meloloskannya. Meski warga di bawah 40 tahun tak bisa mencalonkan sebagai Capres dan Cawapres namun ada pengecualian untuk kepala daerah, sebagaimana Gibran saat ini menjabat.
“Dia tidak memenuhi persyaratan usia untuk mencalonkan diri pada usia 40 tahun, namun MK yang dipimpin oleh saudara ipar Presiden- membuat pengecualian dalam keputusannya minggu lalu. Kini, mereka yang menjabat atau terpilih sebagai pemimpin daerah bisa mencalonkan diri pada usia yang lebih muda,” muat keduanya.
“Keputusan kontroversial tersebut, yang membuka jalan bagi Gibran untuk mencalonkan diri dalam pemilu, telah banyak dikritik karena bersifat nepotis, dan para analis memperingatkan bahwa keputusan tersebut dapat merusak proses demokrasi,” kata media itu lagi.
Disorot juga bagaimana Gibran masih tergabung dalam partainya PDIP, tidak hadir dalam pengumuman kala mantan Gubernur Jawa Tengah Ganjar Pranowo ditunjuk sebagai calon presidennya. Ganjar sendiri telah memilih Menteri Koordinator Politik Hukum, dan Keamanan RI, Mahfud MD.
“Gibran sebagai pasangannya dan berjanji untuk melanjutkan agenda Widodo adalah bagian dari upayanya untuk memenangkan simpati dan dukungan Widodo,” muat media itu lagi.
“Laporan baru-baru ini … menunjukkan bahwa Widodo sangat populer di negara kepulauan ini dengan tingkat kepercayaan publik lebih dari 70%,” tambahnya lagi.
Di sisi lain, media Singapura, Strait Times juga menyoroti ini. Media itu memuat judul “Defence Minister Prabowo to run for Indonesia president with Jokowi’s son Gibran as V-P”.
Media itu memuat sejumlah pengamat lokal terkait pemberitaannya. Termasuk Arya Fernandes, peneliti CSIS.
