Arusberita.id – Pakar Hukum Pidana dari Universitas Pelita Harapan Jamin Ginting menyebut pemerintah harus benar-benar serius mengatasi judi online. Sebab menurutnya, judi online merupakan bencana nasional dan lebih bahaya daripada narkoba.
Hal tersebut disampaikan oleh Jamin Ginting dalam dialog Sapa Indonesia Pagi Kompas TV, Senin (11/11/2024).
“Saya melihat ini kasus judol ini atau judi online ini, kalau saya katakan sudah merupakan bencana nasional. Anda bayangkan banyak orang yang gantung diri kemarin gara-gara judi online, ada istri membakar suami gara-gara judi online, banyak di pihak aparatur negara juga ikut terlibat dalam judi online dengan memainkan pemain dan segala macam,” ucap Jamin.
“Jadi ini sudah masif ya dan korbannya sudah banyak sekali begitu, jadi pemerintah harus benar-benar konsisten untuk memberantas jangan setengah-setengah,” ujarnya.
Apalagi, kata dia, fakta baru sejumlah pegawai Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital atau Komdigi yang punya kewenangan memberantas judi online justru membina untuk kepentingan pribadinya.
“Mereka mempergunakan menyalahgunakan kewenangannya untuk mendapatkan keuntungan dari orang-orang yang mereka blokir tapi tidak diblokir karena mendapat suap begitu,” kata Jamin.
“Jadi ini saya kira bukan lagi pasal 27 undang-undang ITE atau 303 KUHP, ini sudah masuk pasal 12 E dan F huruf kecil itu tindak pidana korupsi, karena ini namanya satu bisa masuk kategori pemerasan atau juga penyalahgunaan kewenangan begitu,” ujarnya.
Sebagai informasi, Polda Metro Jaya kembali menangkap dua orang tersangka dalam kasus judi online. Dua orang yang sempat buron tersebut memang bukan pegawai Komdigi, tetapi keduanya diduga terkait dengan kerja kotor sejumlah pegawai Komdigi yang menyalahgunakan kewenangannya.
