Arusberita.id – Kepala Badan Pelindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani mengatakan para pekerja migran Indonesia (PMI) menyumbangkan devisa Rp159,6 triliun per tahun untuk Indonesia.
“PMI menjadi penyumbang devisa terbesar kedua di Indonesia dengan angka Rp159,6 triliun per tahun sehingga perlakuan negara dengan memberikan hormat ini jadi penting,” kata dia pada acara pembekalan kepada 1.500 calon PMI yang berangkat ke Korea Selatan di Jakarta, Kamis (9/11/2023).
Sejauh ini, BP2MI sudah menyiapkan jalur cepat di bandara hingga ruang tunggu khusus untuk PMI sebagai salah satu bentuk penghormatan terhadap mereka.
Dia mengatakan salah satu alasan untuk 1.500 calon PMI yang akan berangkat ke Korea Selatan itu dapat memiliki gaji uang tinggi dibandingkan dengan upah minimum provinsi (UMP) di Indonesia.
“Kita lihat rata-rata standar gajinya di Korea Selatan ini mencapai Rp 23 juta hingga Rp 30 juta jika mereka lembur dan dapat bonus. Jumlah ini jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan UMP di Indonesia,” kata dia.
Benny mengatakan kuota penempatan bekerja di Korea Selatan bersaing dengan 16 negara di dunia lainnya. Dia mengatakan setiap tahun Indonesia menambah kuota untuk pengiriman tenaga kerja ke wilayah itu.
“Kita sudah menaikkan kuota dari tujuh ribu per tahun dan pada 2022 kita berhasil menaikkan kuota sebanyak dua kali lipat, yakni hampir 12 ribu. Kita yakin tahun akan bertambah lagi penempatan di Korea,” ujarnya.
Pihaknya juga akan meningkatkan sosialisasi peluang kerja di luar negeri dengan mempersiapkan kompetensi keahlian serta perlindungan bagi tenaga migran Indonesia.
Calon pekerja migran yang berangkat ke Korea Selatan, kata dia, didominasi mereka yang berasal dari Jawa. Rata-rata PMI akan bekerja di sektor manufaktur dan perikanan.
Berdasarkan data BP2MI, pada periode Januari hingga Oktober 2023 terdapat 237.992 penempatan PMI. Tercatat, pada Oktober berjumlah 22.011 penempatan. Dari jumlah itu, sektor formal masih mendominasi dengan 13.086 penempatan dan sektor informal 8.925 penempatan.
Pada Oktober juga tercatat 66 persen atau 4.931 penempatan didominasi tiga provinsi, yakni Jawa Timur 4.931 penempatan, Jawa Barat 4.840 penempatan, dan Jawa Tengah 4.777 penempatan.
