Arusberita.id – Anggota Dewan Pakar Tim Kampanye Nasional (TKN) Prabowo-Gibran, Drajad Wibowo menyampaikan rencana pemindahan mega proyek food estate dari Kalimantan ke Merauke, Papua pada pemerintahan mendatang.
Kementerian Pertanian (Kementan) telah berhasil menyelesaikan proses optimasi lahan rawa untuk proyek food estate di Kabupaten Merauke, Papua Selatan.
Proyek ini bertujuan untuk penanaman padi dan akan memanfaatkan lahan seluas 40 ribu hektare (ha).
Sekretaris Direktorat Jenderal Prasarana dan Sarana Pertanian Kementan, Hermanto, mengungkapkan bahwa optimasi lahan rawa sebesar 40 ribu ha tersebar di enam wilayah, yaitu Distrik Tanah Miring (10.540 ha), Distrik Kurik (10.674 ha), Distrik Semangga (6.000 ha), Distrik Malindo (6.629 ha), Distrik Merauke (1.609 ha), dan Distrik Jagebob (4.549 ha).
“Dengan tercapainya target kontrak konstruksi sebesar 40 ribu ha, kami merasa bersyukur atas selesainya proses optimasi lahan rawa di Merauke. Semua target telah terpenuhi,” ujar Hermanto pada Senin 30 September 2024.
Ia juga menambahkan bahwa proses konstruksi melibatkan pembangunan jaringan irigasi, jembatan usaha tani, dan instalasi pompa air.
Pembangunan jaringan irigasi mencakup 732.716 meter (100 persen), jembatan usaha tani sebanyak 178 unit (100 persen), dan pompa air sebanyak 49 unit (100 persen).
“Dengan rampungnya konstruksi optimasi lahan rawa, petani kini dapat langsung memulai proses pengolahan lahan dan penanaman,” tambahnya.
Hermanto juga menegaskan bahwa selain menggunakan peralatan modern selama proses konstruksi, petani juga akan dibantu dengan mekanisasi pertanian melalui penggunaan alat mesin pertanian (alsintan) modern.
Dengan teknologi ini, setiap petani dapat mengelola hingga 5 ha lahan secara efisien.
“Program optimasi lahan rawa di Merauke, Papua memberikan harapan baru untuk menjadikan wilayah paling timur Indonesia sebagai lumbung pangan. Pemerintah akan terus mendampingi dalam pengembangan budidaya padi, pemanfaatan alsintan, dan berbagai aspek lainnya,” tutur Hermanto.
