Arusberita.id – Pemerintahan era Prabowo Subianto memastikan bahwa kebijakan pajak karbon akan berjalan efektif. Hal itu karena pajak karbon dinilai sebagai salah satu instrumen fiskal untuk mendorong transisi menuju ekonomi rendah karbon.
Wakil Komandan Tim Kampanye Nasional Pemilih Muda (TKN Fanta) Prabowo-Gibran, Anggawira mengatakan pajak karbon sudah diatur dalam Undang-Undang Harmonisasi Peraturan Perpajakan (UU HPP), namun implementasinya masih menghadapi beberapa tantangan teknis dan koordinasi.
Menurutnya pemerintahan Prabowo akan fokus memastikan kebijakan ini berjalan secara efektif. “Terutama dengan dukungan regulasi yang lebih jelas dan implementasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan sektor-sektor yang terdampak,” jelas Anggawira kepada Kontan, Minggu (6/10).
Anggawira menjelaskan pemerintah saat ini sedang dalam tahap finalisasi berbagai kebijakan yang mendukung penerapan pajak karbon. Termasuk di dalamnya adalah integrasi pajak karbon dengan mekanisme bursa karbon yang telah berjalan.
Langkah ini diharapkan dapat memberikan insentif bagi pelaku industri untuk mengurangi emisi karbon, sembari memastikan kebijakan pajak karbon tidak memberatkan perekonomian. “Pemerintah juga tengah melakukan sosialisasi dan konsultasi dengan sektor-sektor industri yang berpotensi terdampak besar, sehingga implementasinya dapat berjalan lancar dan inklusif,” ujarnya.
Meski begitu, menurut Anggawira hitungan untuk penerimaan pajak karbon masih dalam proses evaluasi. Ia mengatakan potensi pajak karbon di Indonesia cukup besar, terutama dari sektor energi, manufaktur, dan transportasi yang merupakan penyumbang emisi terbesar.
Berdasarkan perhitungan awal, pajak karbon diperkirakan dapat menghasilkan penerimaan negara yang signifikan, sekaligus menurunkan tingkat emisi karbon. Pemerintah tengah bekerja sama dengan berbagai pihak untuk memastikan tarif pajak karbon yang diterapkan proporsional dan tidak merugikan daya saing industri domestik.
“Dengan demikian, kebijakan pajak karbon dipandang sebagai langkah strategis untuk memastikan Indonesia tetap berkomitmen pada pengendalian perubahan iklim, sembari menjaga keseimbangan pertumbuhan ekonomi,” ungkapnya.
