Presiden Joko Widodo akan membuka Konferensi Tingkat Tinggi (KTT) Negara-Negara Pulau dan Kepulauan atau Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) di Bali pagi ini, Rabu (11/10/2023).
KTT pertama ini dihadiri oleh Presiden Micronesia, Perdana Menteri Niue, Perdana Menteri São Tomé and Príncipe, Perdana Menteri Timor-Leste, serta Perdana Menteri Tuvalu.
Selain itu, KTT AIS Forum 2023 juga dihadiri oleh Deputi Perdana Menteri Fiji dan Tonga, serta para menteri dari Maladewa, Marshall Islands, Palau, Seychelles, Singapura, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, dan Papua Nugini.
Sementara itu, delegasi dari Cabo Verde, Selandia Baru, dan Madagaskar pun hadir, dipimpin oleh pejabat setingkat wakil menteri. Sedangkan Irlandia, Jepang, Siprus, Samoa, Malta, Inggris, Saint Lucia, Cook Islands, Filipina, Suriname, dan Bahrain, mengutus duta besar mereka.
Hadir juga di KTT AIS Forum 2023, wakil dari empat organisasi internasional, yaitu Kelompok Kerja Sama Negara Melanesia (MSG), Forum Negara Kepulauan Pasifik (PIF), Perhimpunan Bangsa-bangsa Asia Tenggara (ASEAN), dan Badan Program Pembangunan PBB atau yang lebih dikenal sebagai UNDP.
Fokus Solusi Perubahan Iklim
Tahun ini, KTT AIS Forum mengusung tema “Fostering Collaboration, Enabling Innovation, for our Ocean and Our Future”. Tema tersebut sesuai tujuan AIS Forum, yang menjadi wadah kerja sama antarnegara pulau dan kepulauan untuk memperkuat kolaborasi dalam mengatasi masalah global terkait kelautan.
Dalam forum ini, setiap delegasi akan menyampaikan pernyataan sikap negara atau organisasi masing-masing. KTT AIS Forum diharapkan menghasilkan Leaders’ Declaration of The Archipelagic and Island States Forum 2023.
Deklarasi ini menyatakan komitmen negara pulau dan kepulauan untuk bekerja sama mengatasi masalah-masalah bersama seperti perubahan iklim, pembangunan ekonomi biru, polusi laut, dan tata kelola laut untuk mencapai kesejahteraan dan keberlanjutan demi generasi mendatang. Advertisement KTT AIS Forum 2023 akan ditutup dengan makan siang bersama, yang dijadwalkan dimulai pada pukul 12.30 WITA.
