Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) kembali berkunjung ke Kota Jayapura, Papua, pada Kamis 6 Juli 2023 pukul 12.30 WIT melalui Bandara Sentani, setelah meresmikan Bandara Ewer di Asmat.
Penjabat Bupati (Pj) Bupati Jayapura Triwarno Purnomo di Sentani, Kamis, mengatakan bahwa kedatangan Presiden Jokowi juga bersamaan dengan kunjungan Menteri Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahudin Uno.
“Presiden RI Joko Widodo sejak pagi melakukan kunjungan ke Kabupaten Asmat, Provinsi Papua Selatan, dalam rangka meresmikan Bandara Ewer, setelah itu kembali lagi ke Jayapura,” katanya.
Menurut Triwarno, sejak 5 Juli 2023 Presiden RI Joko Widodo telah tiba di Kota Jayapura, Papua, setelah melakukan kunjungan kenegaraan dari Papua Nugini (PNG).
“Setelah dari negara PNG, Presiden menuju Kota Jayapura dan menginap, setelah itu pada Kamis 6 Juli ke Kabupaten Asmat, Papua Selatan,” ujarnya.
Dia menjelaskan setelah kembali dari Asmat, Presiden Jokowi di Jadwalkan akan melakukan panen jagung di Kabupaten Keerom, Provinsi Papua.
“Pada kesempatan yang sama Menparekraf Sandiaga Salahudin Uno juga telah berada di Kabupaten Jayapura sejak Rabu 5 Juli 2023 guna membuka Festival Danau Sentani,” katanya.
Dia menambahkan pihaknya mewakili seluruh masyarakat Kabupaten Jayapura berterima kasih atas kunjungan para pejabat tinggi negara ke daerah tersebut.
“Kedatangan para petinggi negara ke daerah selalu memberi kesan tersendiri bagi masyarakat dan juga pemerintah daerah,” ujar Triwarno Purnomo.
Profil Bandara Ewer
Bandara Ewer mempunyai landasan pacu (runway) sepanjang 1.650 meter dan lebar 30 meter. Jenis pesawat yang dapat melayani adalah ATR 72-600 untuk penumpang dan kargo. Selain itu, terdapat pula apron seluas 70×90 meter dan taxiway 86×15 meter.
Bandara yang terletak di Bismam, Distrik Agats, Kabupaten Asmat tersebut melayani rute penerbangan pulang-pergi (PP) Kawur-Ewer, PP Merauke-Ewer, dan PP Timika-Ewer. Sedangkan maskapai yang beroperasi di Bandara Ewer (kode IATA: EWE), yaitu Wings Air, Smart Aviation, dan Trigana Aviation.
Direktur Jenderal (Dirjen) Perhubungan Udara Kemenhub M. Kristi Endah Murni, mengatakan Bandara Ewer Asmat menunjukkan tren pertumbuhan penumpang yang terus meningkat. Pada 2020, tercatat ada 12.185 penumpang dan naik menjadi 21.603 orang di tahun berikutnya. Selanjutnya, pada 2022, jumlah penumpang maskapai penerbangan di Ewer menyentuh 27.772 orang.
“Dengan meningkatnya jumlah penumpang, maka pembangunan terminal penumpang transportasi udara baru di Bandara Ewer yang mencapai 488 meter persegi dirasa sangat tepat, agar memberi rasa nyaman dibandingkan dengan terminal penumpang yang lama seluas 120 meter persegi,” kata Kris ketika meninjau kesiapan operasional di Papua Selatan pada Senin, 3 Juli 2023.
