Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo atau Jokowi mengatakan pembukaan Masjid Jokowi di Abu Dhabi merupakan tanda keakraban Indonesia dan Uni Emirat Arab. Ia menyebut dua negara semakin dekat di semua bidang.
Masjid Jokowi dibuka di Abu Dhabi pada Kamis, 14 Desember 2023. Pembukaan masjid Presiden Joko Widodo tersebut ditandai dengan kegiatan peresmian oleh Menteri Energi dan Infrastruktur Uni Emirat Arab (UEA) YM Suhail Al Mazroei, Kepala Awqaf (Otoritas Umum untuk Urusan Islam dan Waqaf) Dr Omar Habtoor Al-Direi, Dubes RI untuk UEA Husin Bagis dan Dubes UEA untuk Indonesia serta Dubes Non-Residen untuk Timor Leste, dan ASEAN, Abdullah Salem Aldhaheri.
“Kedua negara semakin dekat di semua bidang, dari ekonomi, pendidikan, hingga antarpribadi para pemimpin. Sebegitu akrabnya,” kata Jokowi dalam unggahan di media sosial X miliknya, pada Selasa, 26 Desember 2023.
Selain Masjid Jokowi, kepala negara mengatakan, di kota Abu Dhabi ada Jokowi Street. Sementara di Indonesia ada Jalan Layang Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed yang membentang dari wilayah Jakarta hingga ke Cikampek sepanjang 36,84 Kilometer. Semula itu dikenal Tol Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated. Presiden memberi contoh lain, di kota Surakarta berdiri Masjid Agung Sheikh Zayed.
Masjid Jokowi berlokasi di area diplomatik Abu Dhabi dan dilalui oleh Jalan Presiden Joko Widodo. Masjid tersebut berdiri di atas tanah dengan luas 3.766 m2 dan dapat menampung hingga 2.500 jamaah.
Masjid Jokowi diklaim telah dibangun dengan bahan yang berkualitas tinggi. Selain itu, terdapat banyak ornament kayu dan ukiran Asmaul Husna yang digunakan menghiasi masjid tersebut.
Dibangun pada 2021, Masjid Jokowi di Abu Dhabi rampung Oktober 2023. Sekarang sudah dibuka untuk umum.
Hubungan diplomatik Indonesia dan UEA sudah terjalin dengan baik sejak tahun 1976. Uni Emirat Arab merupakan mitra perdagangan dan investasi utama Indonesia di Kawasan Timur Tengah.
UEA menjadi mitra dagang terbesar kedua bagi Indonesia di antara negara-negara Timur Tengah, dengan total perdagangan USD5,06 miliar. Selain itu, UEA telah menjadi salah satu pasar utama bagi Indonesia, dengan minyak sawit menjadi komoditas ekspor terpenting.
