Arusberita.id – Presiden RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi) meresmikan Gedung Jokowi Learning Center (JLC) SMA Kebangsaan, di Kabupaten Lampung Selatan, Provinsi Lampung, Kamis (11/07/2024) siang. Dalam sambutannya, Presiden menekankan pentingnya pembangunan SDM unggul untuk meningkatkan daya saing global.
“Saya senang yang sekolah di sini dari 28 provinsi ada semuanya, bahkan yang dari tanah Papua juga ada, ini luar biasa. Artinya, SMA kebangsaan ini diakui secara nasional karena yang sekolah sudah dari 28 provinsi. Karena apapun, SDM-SDM unggul ini kita perlukan dalam rangka kompetisi, dalam rangka persaingan antarnegara,” ucap Presiden.
Presiden mengungkapkan, saat ini peringkat daya saing Indonesia berada pada peringkat 27, atau naik 7 peringkat dari sebelumnya di posisi 34. Meski demikian, untuk aspek kesehatan dan pendidikan Indonesia masih berada pada peringkat 50-an.
“World Competitiveness Ranking, kita sudah berada di angka 27, sudah sangat bagus. Tapi di dua, di pendidikan dan kesehatan, kita masih di angka 57,” ujarnya.
Untuk itu, Presiden berharap sekolah-sekolah seperti SMA Kebangsaan ini dapat dibangun juga di berbagai pelosok tanah air sebagai sarana untuk menyiapkan SDM-SDM unggul.
“Kalau semua menteri, kemudian dari kita-kita yang memiliki rezeki yang banyak kayak Pak Hatta, kayak Pak Boy Thohir, mendirikan sekolah seperti sepuluh-sepuluh, gitu aja, yang lain juga sepuluh-sepuluh, tapi harus kayak SMA Kebangsaan ini fasilitasnya, nah, ini ranking kita pasti akan melompat, pasti akan melompat dan kita akan memiliki SDM-SDM unggul yang dibutuhkan negara ini,” kata Presiden.
Pada kesempatan tersebut, Presiden juga mengapresiasi lingkungan, lanskap, dan berbagai fasilitas modern yang dimiliki oleh SMA Kebangsaan. Presiden mengatakan bahwa mendaftar sekolah di SMA ini merupakan pilihan tepat.
“Baru masuk saja sudah kelihatan lingkungannya sangat asri, lanskapnya sangat bagus sekali, tadi diperlihatkan oleh Ketua Yayasan, Kepala Sekolah, dan juga Pak Toto tadi fasilitas yang ada di dalamnya ya sangat modern sekali. Jadi kalau tujuan, tadi disampaikan oleh Pak Zulkifli Hasan, tujuan membangun sekolah ini adalah untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat kita, utamanya yang menengah bawah, enggak keliru kalau menyekolahkan anaknya di sini,” imbuhnya.
Lebih lanjut, Presiden juga menyampaikan bahwa saat ini kecepatan sangat dibutuhkan dalam upaya memenangkan persaingan global. Namun, untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, diperlukan SDM-SDM unggul yang mampu menguasai semua kemampuan yang dibutuhkan.
“Sudah sering saya sampaikan, ke depan negara yang cepat itu akan mengalahkan negara yang lambat, bukan negara besar mengalahkan negara kecil, ndak, bukan negara adidaya mengalahkan negara yang kecil, ndak, tapi negara yang cepat akan mengalahkan negara yang lambat. Dan kita ingin menjadi negara yang cepat, dengan SDM-SDM yang menguasai semuanya, teknologi, inovasi, semuanya,” pungkas Presiden.
Turut hadir dalam peresmian ini, antara lain, Menteri Perdagangan (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan, Menteri Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Menteri Pertanian (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman, dan Bupati Kabupaten Lampung Selatan Nanang Ermanto.
