Arusberita.id – Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) mengungkapkan bahwa Indonesia akan merilis Bahan Bakar Minyak (BBM) baru mulai 17 Agustus 2024. BBM baru itu diketahui akan berjenis solar.
Kepala Biro Komunikasi, Layanan Informasi Publik, dan Kerja Sama (KLIK) Kementerian ESDM, Agus Cahyono Adi menyebutkan BBM baru itu merupakan BBM yang lebih ramah lingkungan atau memiliki tingkat sulfur yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan produk BBM solar yang ada saat ini.
“Kalau rendah sulfur ini akan mulai tapi sebagai pilot, 17 (Agustus) itu adalah semacam kick-off-nya mau mulai di sana. Terus yang disampaikan 17 Agustus pembatasan, tadi Pak Menteri sudah sampaikan ini lagi dibahas di Perpres 191 (tahun 2014) mengenai mana saja yang targetnya siapa saja,” ungkapnya saat ditemui di Gedung Kementerian ESDM, Jakarta, dikutip Senin (15/7/2024).
Lantas apakah BBM baru tersebut merupakan BBM bersubsidi?
Menjawab pertanyaan itu, Agus mengungkapkan jenis BBM baru yang akan dirilis oleh pemerintah kemungkinan merupakan jenis BBM non subsidi. “Nggak tahu namanya apa nanti. Kayaknya yang dex juga, yang non-subsidi,” ujarnya.
Alasan tak disubsidi, karena memberikan subsidi pada jenis BBM yang rendah sulfur diperlukan biaya tinggi. Dengan begitu, Agus klaim bahwa pemerintah hingga saat ini masih memberikan subsidi pada jenis BBM solar Biosolar.
“Mahal banget loh itu, lihat aja yang Dexlite 15.500, solar (Bio Solar) Rp 6.000,” jawab Agus saat ditanya apakah jenis BBM yang disubsidi pemerintah akan dialihkan pada jenis BBM yang rendah sulfur.
Lebih lanjut, dia membeberkan bahwa pada tanggal 17 Agustus 2024 tersebut pihaknya akan mengenalkan jenis BBM baru tersebut secara bertahap di beberapa Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar Umum (SPBU) terlebih dahulu. “Ada beberapa SPBU kalau saya dengarnya gitu masih dimulai beberapa SPBU,” tambahnya.
Di lain sisi, Menteri ESDM Arifin Tasrif mengatakan, bahwa saat ini pemerintah sedang ‘memutar otak’ untuk bisa mengurangi sumbangan polusi ke udara dari sektor kendaraan.
Caranya dengan membuat jenis BBM baru yang rendah sulfur khususnya pada jenis BBM solar. “Kita kan sekarang ini kan udara kita kan banyak emisi ini gimana caranya supaya mengurangi kita hidup sehat ini alternatifnya pakai BBM rendah sulfur,” ungkapnya saat ditanya perihal kemungkinan Indonesia akan merilis jenis BBM baru, ditemui di Gedung Kementerian ESDM, Jakarta, Jumat (12/7/2024).
Adapun saat ini, kata Menteri Arifin, pihaknya pun sedang mencari bahan pencampur yang bisa mengurangi sulfur konten. Maklum, sekarang sulfur dalam bensin yang ada di Indonesia masih 500 ppm-an. “Kalau standar-nya euro 5 kan harus di bawah 50. Menuju itu kan ongkosnya ada. Tapi kilang kita belum kelar sih di Balikpapan,” ungkap dia.
