Arusberita.id – Perusahaan bank investasi dan jasa keuangan multinasional asal Amerika, Goldman Sachs, memperkirakan pergeseran sumber pertumbuhan ekonomi dunia pada 2050 hingga 2075. Goldman Sachs meramal RI akan menjadi negara dengan ekonomi terbesar keempat dunia pada 2050, tepat di bawah China, AS dan India.
Negara maju tidak lagi menjadi episentrum pertumbuhan. Negara berkembang pun diyakini menggantikan negara-negara kaya.
Proyeksi ini dirangkum dalam Goldman Sachs Global Economics Paper yang diterbitkan beberapa waktu lalu (22/12/2022).
“Indonesia mengantikan Brasil dan Rusia di antara daftar negara berkembang terbesar di kelompok ini,” tulis Goldman, dikutip Kamis (27/7/2023).
Alasan RI diramalkan menjadi negara terbesar dunia dilaporkan dari Laporan Goldman hanya mengindikasikan bahwa pergerakan peringkat ekonomi ini dipengaruhi oleh kondisi demografi. “Jika kita memperpanjang cakrawala proyeksi hingga 2075, prospek pertumbuhan populasi yang cepat di negara-negara seperti Nigeria, Pakistan, dan Mesir menyiratkan bahwa – dengan kebijakan dan institusi yang tepat – ekonomi ini bisa menjadi salah satu yang terbesar di dunia,” kata Goldman.
