Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo mengatakan, hingga saat ini sudah ada ratusan pejabat yang dipenjarakan akibat tindak pidana korupsi.
Sehingga menurutnya, tak ada negara lain di dunia yang memenjarakan pejabat sebanyak yang dilakukan pemerintah Indonesia.
“Korupsi adalah kejahatan yang luar biasa, yang menghambat pembangunan, bisa merusak ekonomi bangsa dan juga bisa menyengsarakan rakyat,” ujar Jokowi dalam pidato di Hari Antikorupsi Sedunia (Hakordia) yang digelar di Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Selasa (12/12/2023).
“Kita tahu di negara kita periode 2004-2022 sudah banyak sekali, dan menurut saya terlalu banyak pejabat-pejabat kita yang sudah ditangkap dan dipenjarakan. tidak ada negara lain yang menangkap dan memenjarakan pejabatnya sebanyak negara kita Indonesia,” tegasnya.
Menurut Presiden, jumlah tersebut tidak perlu diberikan tepuk tangan. Kepala Negara lantas menjelaskan, berdasarkan catatannya, pada 2004 hingga 2022 ada 344 anggota DPR dan DPRD yang dipenjara karena korupsi.
Di dalamnya termasuk ketua DPR dan Ketua DPRD. Lalu ada 38 menteri dan kepala lembaga yang juga ditangkap dan dipenjara karena korupsi.
Selain itu, ada 24 gubernur, 162 bupati dan wali kota yang dihukum penjara karena korupsi. “Ada 31 hakim, termasuk hakim konstitusi. Ada delapan komisioner.
Di antaranya komisioner KPU, KPPU dan KY,” tutur Jokowi. Selain itu, ada 415 pihak swasta dan 363 birokrat yang juga masuk bui akibat kasus korupsi.
Sehingga apabila keseluruhan ditotal, ada sebanyak 1.385 orang yang masuk penjara karena kasus korupsi berdasarkan catatan Presiden Jokowi.
“Terlalu banyak. Banyak sekali. Sekali lagi, carikan negara lain yang memenjarakan pejabatnya sebanyak di Indonesia,” tegasnya.
“Dengan begitu banyaknya orang, pejabat yang sudah dipenjarakan, apakah korupsi bisa berhenti? berkurang? ternyata sampai sekarang pun masih kita temukan banyak kasus korupsi. Artinya ini kita perlu mengevaluasi total,” tambahnya.
