Arusberita.id – Pemegang Surat Izin Mengemudi (SIM) A perlu melakukan perpanjangan setiap lima tahun, sebelum masa berlakunya habis.
Pasalnya jika lebih dari tanggal berlakunya SIM, maka pemegang harus membuat SIM baru atau dengan kata lain tidak bisa diperpanjang.
Aturan ini tercantum dalam Peraturan Kapolri Nomor 09 Tahun 2012 Pasal 28 ayat 3 tentang Perpanjangan SIM dan Surat Telegram ST /985/IV/2016 Tanggal 20 April 2016 huruf BBB poin 3.
Adapun biaya perpanjangan SIM A diatur dalam Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) Nomor 76 Tahun 2020 tentang Jenis dan tarif atas Jenis Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak yang Berlaku pada Kepolisian Negara Republik Indonesia, sebesar Rp 80.000.
Perlu dicatat, sesuai dengan laman resmi Digital Korlantas biaya tersebut belum termasuk dengan tes psikologi sebesar Rp 37.500 dan tarif tes Rikkes jasmani yang mengikuti kebijakan tarif klinik yang dipilih oleh pemohon perpanjangan SIM A.
Adapun syarat yang diperlukan untuk perpanjangan SIM A, yaitu : KTP SIM lama yang akan segera habis masa berlakunya dan fotokopinya Bukti cek kesehatan Apabila pemegang SIM A yang belum melakukan perpanjangan, maka bisa dikenakan tilang sesuai dengan Pasal 288 ayat 2 Undang-Undang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan (UU LLAJ).
Pemilik SIM yang masa berlakunya habis dapat terancam pidana kurungan paling lama satu bulan atau denda paling banyak Rp 250.000.
