Arusberita.id – Kementerian Luar Negeri (Kemlu) Indonesia menepis isu buka hubungan diplomasi dengan Israel untuk masuk menjadi bagian Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Kemlu RI menjelaskan proses masuk menjadi OECD yang tidak ada kaitan dengan Israel.
“Proses keanggotaan Indonesia akan memakan waktu cukup panjang. Roadmap keanggotaan menurut rencana akan di adopsi bulan Mei depan dan dalam roadmap itu banyak sekali hal yang harus dipersiapkan Indonesia,” kata Jubir Kemlu RI, Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, kepada wartawan, Jumat (12/4/2024).
Iqbal memaparkan setiap negara memiliki waktu yang berbeda-beda dalam menyelesaikan proses keanggotaan penuh OECD. Menurutnya, waktu yang diperlukan mulai dari tiga hingga lima tahun tergantung kesiapan masing-masing negara.
“Waktu yang diperlukan setiap negara untuk menyelesaikan proses keanggotaan penuh di OECD berbeda-beda. Semua tergantung kesiapan negara tersebut. Beberapa negara memerlukan waktu 3 tahun, beberapa lagi memerlukan lebih dari 5 tahun,” ucap dia.
Karena itulah, Iqbal membantah adanya isu pembukaan hubungan diplomatik di balik upaya Indonesia bergabung dengan OECD. Dia menegaskan Indonesia akan tetap kokoh mendukung kemerdekaan Palestina.
“Terkait isu pembukaan hubungan diplomatik dengan Israel, saya tegaskan bahwa hingga saat ini tidak ada rencana untuk membuka hubungan diplomatik dengan Israel, terlebih di tengah situasi kekejaman Israel di Gaza saat ini. Posisi Indonesia tidak berubah dan tetap kokoh mendukung kemerdekaan Palestina dalam kerangka two-state solution. Indonesia akan selalu konsisten, berada di garis terdepan membela hak-hak Bangsa Palestina,” ujar dia.
