Namun pascadeklarasi, elektabilitas Ganjar Pranowo di kalangan NU masih tetap berada di level teratas yakni 25,6% melewati Prabowo di angka 25% dan Anies 12,8%.
Menurut pakar komunikasi politik Ratna Puspita, hal tersebut terjadi karena Ganjar Pranowo dianggap calon presiden yang paling memiliki kedekatan dengan NU. Setidaknya hal itu disebabkan oleh beberapa hal.
Pertama, Ganjar memiliki relasi dengan NU melalui istrinya yang merupakan cucu dari tokoh NU terkemuka di wilayah Purbalingga Jawa Tengah yakni, KH Hisyam A Karim.
Berdasarkan hal tersebut secara tidak langsung menjadikan mantan Gubernur Jawa Tengah tersebut sebagai bagian dari keluarga NU.
“Dari tiga nama bakal calon presiden, Ganjar Pranowo memiliki keuntungan dalam relasinya dengan organisasi masyarakat (ormas) Islam terbesar di Indonesia itu,” terang Ratna kepada wartawan, Sabtu (19/8/2023).
Kedua, relasi Ganjar yang semakin kuat sejak Taj Yasin Maimoen atau Gus Yasin maju mendampingi dirinya pada Pilkada Jawa Tengah periode 2018-2023.
Sementara itu, diketahui bahwa Taj Yasin merupakan anak dari ulama NU terkenal di Rembang, Jawa Tengah, yaitu KH. Maimoen Zubair atau Mbah Moen.
Keduanya dikenal saling bahu-membahu membangun Jawa Tengah selama lima tahun terakhir. Selama menjabat sebagai gubernur Jawa Tengah, Ganjar juga rajin sowan dan menjaga silaturahim kepada ulama dan kyai NU.
Ketiga, Ganjar pernah belajar memajukan pendidikan keagamaan bersama pengasuh Pondok Pesantren Girikusumo, KH. Munif Zuhri atau Mbah Zuhri.
Selain itu, Ganjar tercatat rajin sowan ke Pondok Pesantren Raudlatut Thalibin dan bertemu Ahmad Mustofa Bisri atau Gus Mus.
Terakhir, dirinya juga rajin sowan kepada ulama yang sekaligus menjabat anggota Dewan Pertimbangan Presiden (Wantimpres) Muhammad Luthfi bin Yahya atau Habib Lutfi.
