Arusberita.id – Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya Air (Ditjen SDA) Kementerian Pekerjaan Umum dan Perumahan Rakyat (PUPR) menyiapkan 223 bendungan guna menghadapi kemarau panjang efek El Nino. Bendungan tersebut diharapkan mampu menampung volume air hingga 6,73 miliar kubik dengan volume pemafaatan sebesar 4,37 miliar kubik.
Direktur Jenderal SDA Kementerian PUPR Jarot Widyoko mengatakan bendungan menjadi infrastruktur penting untuk merespons fenomena El Nino. “Ratusan bendungan di Indonesia bisa menampung hingga 6,73 miliar kubik air. Harapannya ini bisa jadi salah satu solusi,” ujarnya dalam Focus Group Discussion Antisipasi Menghadapi Musim Kemarau dan Bencana Kekeringan Tahun 2023, Senin 7 Agustus 2023
Selain menyiapkan bendungan, Ditjen SDA menyiapkan infrastruktur air lain yaitu situ (cekungan berisi air) sejumlah 332 buah. Total volume air yang dapat ditampung sejumlah 60,02 juta kubik dengan volume pemanfaatan 48,02 juta kubik air.
Tidak hanya itu, masih terdapat 3.464 embung (kolam penampung air hujan) yang secara total mampu menampung volume air hingga 262,8 juta kubik serta pemanfaatan sebesar 170,5 juta kubik air.
Lebih lanjut, PUPR memiliki danau hingga 114 buah dengan kemampuan menyimpan volume air total sebanyak 21,84 miliar kubik. Volume pemanfaatannya yaitu mencapai 17,47 miliar kubik air.
Selain berbagai macam penampungan air, guna menghadapi kemarau juga dipersiapkan sumur bor sejumlah 8.213 yang berkapasitas 72,02 kubik/detiknya. PUPR turut menyiagakan 297 mobil tangki air, 42 unit pompa mobile, 26 unit alat bor, 146 mesin pompa, dan 172 unit eskavator.
Pemanfaatan air dari masing-masing tampungan tersebut diatur berdasarkan prioritas kebutuhan semisal untuk kepentingan air minum masyarakat. Pejabat BBWS dapat mengatur kepentingan tersebut berdasarkan prioritas.
Sejumlah Daerah Hadapi Kemarau Panjang
Sejumlah daerah diprediksi Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) akan dilanda kemarau panjang dan memicu kekeringan akibat fenomena El Nino. Daerah tersebut meliputi Sumatra bagian tengah hingga Selatan, Riau bagian Selatan, Jambi, Lampung, Banten, hingga Jawa Barat.
Cuaca panas ekstrem di Indonesia diprediksi oleh BMKG akan berlangsung pada Agustus-Oktober 2023 dan akan berlanjut hingga awal 2024. “Jadi, daerah yang perlu diwaspadai dari bulan Agustus – Oktober 2023, sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia bagian selatan khatulistiwa,” ujar Plt Deputi Bidang Klimatologi BMKG, Ardhasena Sopaheluwakan.
Kawasan tersebut diprediksi mengalami hujan dengan intensitas sangat kecil, kecuali daerah yang memiliki topografis tinggi. Berdasarkan prediksi tersebut, daerah yang kiranya dilanda kemarau panjang untuk mempersiapkan diri dengan melakukan langkah siaga.
Kesiagaan tersebut diimplementasikan dengan mengelola air hujan, atau memanen air hujan seperti yang telah diterapkan di Sulawesi Tengah. Hal ini berguna untuk mencegah kekeringan dan gagal panen di kala kemarau panjang.
