Arusberita.id – Presiden RI Joko Widodo (Jokowi) menetapkan tanggal 15 Januari sebagai Hari Desa. Penetapan tersebut dituangkan dalam Keputusan Presiden Republik Indonesia (Keppres) Nomor 23 Tahun 2024.
Penetapan Hari Desa ini didasari pada pertimbangan bahwa desa yang berkedudukan sebagai unsur penyelenggara pemerintahan yang langsung melayani masyarakat dengan segala keanekaragaman adat istiadat dan budayanya, memiliki peran penting dalam pemerataan kesejahteraan dan memperkokoh bingkai Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia (NKRI).
“Untuk memperkuat peran desa dan dalam rangka membangun pemahaman masyarakat dan seluruh pemangku kepentingan agar menjadikan desa sebagai subjek pembangunan, pemberdayaan masyarakat, pusat pertumbuhan dan kebudayaan daerah, serta untuk mempublikasikan kemajuan desa, perlu ditetapkan Hari Desa untuk mengingatkan seluruh elemen bangsa bahwa desa merupakan unsur pemerintahan terdepan dan terdekat dengan masyarakat dalam menjaga Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia,” bunyi Keppres.
Penetapan tanggal 15 Januari sebagai Hari Desa mengacu pada tanggal diundangkannya Undang-Undang (UU) No 6 Tahun 2024 tentang Desa.
“Diundangkannya Undang-Undang Nomor 6 Tahun 2014 tentang Desa yang mengatur secara komprehensif mengenai peran dan kedudukan desa pada tanggal 15 Januari 2014, merupakan momentum yang memberikan kejelasan status dan kepastian hukum atas desa dalam sistem ketatanegaraan Republik Indonesia demi mewujudkan keadilan bagi seluruh rakyat Indonesia,” disebutkan dalam Keppres.
Dalam Diktum Kedua peraturan ini disebutkan bahwa Hari Desa bukan merupakan hari libur.
“Keputusan Presiden ini mulai berlaku pada tanggal ditetapkan,” bunyi Diktum Ketiga Keppres 23/2024 yang ditetapkan di Jakarta tanggal 31 Juli 2024 ini.
