Arusberita.id – Indonesia diperkirakan bisa menjadi pusat atau hub manufaktur kendaraan listrik (electric vehicle/ EV) di Asia Tenggara (ASEAN).
Namun, ini bisa terjadi bila transformasi struktural dilakukan dengan tepat.
Hal tersebut diungkapkan Senior Economist UOB Enrico Tanuwidjaja dalam acara UOB Gateway to ASEAN Conference 2023 di Jakarta, Rabu (11/10/2023).
“Bagaimana dengan Indonesia, dalam pandangan saya, pertama, jika dilakukan transformasi struktural dengan benar, maka Indonesia akan menjadi pusat manufaktur utama di kawasan ini (ASEAN),” ungkapnya saat berbicara mengenai kendaraan listrik, dalam panel diskusi di acara UOB Gateway to ASEAN Conference 2023 di Jakarta, Rabu (11/10/2023).
Selain itu, lanjutnya, Indonesia juga mulai menggencarkan hilirisasi komoditas tambang, seperti nikel, bauksit, dan selanjutnya tembaga, dan lainnya. Hilirisasi komoditas tambang ini telah memberikan nilai tambah signifikan bagi negeri ini.
Bahkan, saat pandemi Covid-19 ekonomi Indonesia masih bisa bertahan, salah satunya karena adanya hilirisasi tambang di dalam negeri.
“Coba kita lihat kontribusi dari smelter dan hilirisasi logam dasar pada seluruh manufaktur, nilai tambahnya sudah meningkat sejak 2010. Lebih cepat lagi pada 2018 dan tak terhentikan selama pandemi Covid-19. Ini merupakan titik balik yang sangat signifikan,” ucapnya.
Dia menyebut, nilai ekspor nikel Indonesia hanya sekitar US$ 2 miliar sebelum adanya kebijakan larangan ekspor bijih nikel pada 2020. Namun setelah adanya larangan ekspor bijih nikel dan hilirisasi nikel semakin digencarkan, nilai ekspor semakin melesat hingga US$ 30 miliar.
“Bayangkan jika ini direplikasi ke komoditas tembaga pada tahun depan, mungkin bakal ada kebijakan lainnya, hilirisasi lainnya, bauksit sudah dilakukan,” ucapnya.
“Jadi, bagi saya ini adalah kesempatan karena ekosistem lebih besar yang kita lihat yaitu transportasi yang lebih bersih,” tandasnya.
