Arusberita.id – Pemerintah akan kembali mengirimkan bantuan kemanusiaan ke Gaza, Palestina, pada tahun ini sampai 3 kali lipat lebih banyak dari 2023.
Menteri Luar Negeri Retno Marsudi mengatakan, pemerintah akan berkoordinasi dengan Lembaga untuk Penyaluran Bantuan Perserikatan Bangsa-Bangsa (UNRWA) dalam proses distribusi bantuan itu.
“Tahun ini kita akan lipat tiga kalikan kontribusi voluntary kita ke UNRWA, yang berarti kalau kita sumbang ke UNRWA maka penyaluran langsung diberikan ke pengungsi Palestina,” kata Retno dalam konferensi pers di Media Center Indonesia Maju ditayangkan di kanal YouTube, Kamis (4/1/2024).
Bantuan pertama dikirim pada 4 November 2023 yang mencakup obat-obatan, peralatan medis, selimut, tenda, sampai logistik lainnya yang dibutuhkan pengungsi sebanyak 51,8 ton.
Retno mengatakan, pemerintah juga terus melakukan upaya diplomatik buat mengakhiri peperangan antara Israel dan Hamas di Gaza, Palestina.
Menurut Retno, upaya diplomatik dilakukan dengan cara kunjungan yang dilakukan bersama sejumlah menteri luar negeri negara-negara anggota Organisasi Keja Sama Islam (OKI) ke sejumlah negara yakni Amerika Serikat, China, Swiss, dan Rusia.
“Selama di Jenewa saya melakukan pertemuan dengan badan-badan internasional dan badan PBB dan khusus mengurusi Gaza Palestina antara lain ICRC dan UNRWA,” ucap Retno.
Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi), kata Retno, beberapa kali berpesan bahwa sikap bangsa Indonesia harus jelas bersama dengan bangsa Palestina.
