Arusberita.id – Kepala Badan Kebijakan Fiskal (BKF) Kementerian Keuangan, Febrio Kacaribu, mengatakan pemerintah akan mengantisipasi dampak yang ditimbulkan dari potensi resesi ekonomi Amerika Serikat (AS).
Antisipasi ini dilakukan agar alih-alih dampak negatif, Indonesia bisa mendapat peluang dari penurunan ekonomi AS.
“Supaya apa yang kita lakukan kalibrasi dan kebijakan yang kita lakukan dalam negeri itu justru memastikan ketidakpastian ini tidak berdampak negatif bagi kita, tetapi bagaimana ini kita gunakan supaya justru memperbaiki dan mendapatkan peluang bagi kita memperbaiki struktur dari pembiayaan kita,” katanya kepada awak media, usai Seminar Transparansi Dana Desa dan Pengentasan Kemiskinan, di kantornya, Selasa (6/8/2024).
Ancaman resesi ini muncul setelah rilis data ketenagakerjaan AS, di mana Departemen Tenaga Kerja AS mencatat tingkat pengangguran pada Juli 2024 naik menjadi 4,3 persen, tertinggi sejak periode Oktober 2021.
Meski begitu, menurut Febrio, potensi resesi AS justru bisa jadi mendatangkan dampak positif bagi Indonesia. Pasalnya, dengan meningkatnya jumlah pengangguran, akan memicu potensi penurunan suku bunga Bank Sentral AS, The Federal Reserve (The Fed) lebih lebar.
“Kalau memang turun, karena memang harus mereka adjust (kebijakan suku bunga acuan), justru dampaknya harusnya positif bagi kita. Nah itu yang harus kita pastikan, kita kawal bahwa dinamika ini kita kelola hari demi hari, minggu demi minggu,” imbuh dia.
Sementara itu, seiring dengan sinyal penurunan suku bunga acuan The Fed, suku bunga obligasi pemerintah AS, US Treasury 10 tahun akan turut mengalami penurunan.
“Sejauh ini justru kalau kita lihat suku bunga kebijakannya nanti turun. Ini kan sebelum kebijakan suku bunga turun pun suku bunga (US Treasury) 10 tahun US itu sudah turun cukup tajam, sekarang di sekitar 3,7 persen dan turunnya cukup tajam dalam beberapa hari ini,” ujar Febrio.
