Arusberita.id – Pengamat militer, Anton Aliabbas, mengatakan, penyebutan Kelompok Kriminal Bersenjata (KKB) menjadi Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM) merupakan langkah maju TNI.
Anton menilai selama ini aparat militer terlihat menghindari penyebutan OPM karena terkait gerakan separatisme.
“Penggunaan label OPM tentu saja merupakan sebuah langkah maju,” ujarnya kepada Kompas.com, Sabtu (13/4/2024).
Namun, penyebutan OPM akan membawa implikasi pada penanganan isu Papua. TNI harus membuat kebijakan yang lebih jelas setelah resmi melabeli kelompok separatis di Papua tersebut.
Kebijakan itu harus sesuai pada sektor pertahanan keamanan dan kebijakan luar negeri.
Anton juga menyebut TNI semestinya mempertimbangkan pendekatan dialog yang terbukti mampu menekan angka korban, baik dari kalangan sipil maupun prajurit.
“Untuk mau mendengar keluhan dan kebutuhan masyarakat Papua dalam membuat kebijakan di Papua, bukan malah mengabaikan suara mereka. Dalam hal ini, ruang dialog harus dibuka untuk mencari solusi dalam penyelesaian konflik Papua,” kata dia.
Sebelumnya diberitakan, Panglima TNI Jenderal Agus Subiyanto menegaskan TNI akan menyebut KKB sebagai OPM.
“Karena dari mereka sendiri menamakan diri TPNPB (Tentara Pembebasan Nasional Papua Barat) sehingga sama dengan OPM,” kata Agus di Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, Rabu (10/4/2024).
Ia mengatakan, OPM sudah melakukan teror dan pembunuhan terhadap masyarakat serta anggota TNI-Polri. Para anggota OPM juga memerkosa guru dan tenaga kesehatan di sana.
