Arusberita.id – PON XXI yang diselenggarakan di Aceh dan Sumatera Utara secara resmi ditutup pada Jumat (20/9) malam dalam dua seremonial yang digelar bersamaan di kedua provinsi bertetangga tersebut. Di Aceh, acara penutupan berlangsung meriah di Stadion Harapan Bangsa, Lhong Raya, Banda Aceh.
Sementara itu, di Sumatera Utara, penutupan diselenggarakan di Stadion Utama Sumut Sport Centre, Deli Serdang.
Di Aceh, rangkaian acara penutupan diawali dengan penampilan seni, dilanjutkan dengan defile para kontingen dari seluruh Indonesia yang bertanding di wilayah Aceh.
Setiap perwakilan provinsi berbaris melewati area utama di atas panggung yang dibangun di depan stadion.
Acara dihadiri oleh Ketua Harian PB PON XXI Wilayah Aceh, Azwardi, AP, M.Si, yang juga menjabat sebagai Plh Sekda Aceh, beserta unsur Forkopimda dan para pejabat terkait.
Dalam sambutannya Azwardi menyampaikan bahwa PON XXI ini bukan hanya ajang kompetisi olahraga, tetapi juga momen bersejarah yang menyatukan seluruh elemen bangsa dalam semangat kebersamaan dan persatuan.
“Hari ini, kita berkumpul dalam suasana penuh haru dan bahagia untuk merayakan penutupan PON XXI. PON ini bukan sekadar kompetisi olahraga, tetapi juga momen bersejarah yang menyatukan kita dalam kebersamaan. Ada tawa, tangisan, senyum, dan bahkan air mata selama pelaksanaan PON ini. Namun, yang terpenting adalah bagaimana kita melihat sisi terang dari perjalanan penuh perjuangan ini,” ujar Azwardi.
Sebagai PON pertama yang diselenggarakan di dua provinsi, PON XXI mencatat sejarah baru dengan jumlah kontingen terbanyak sepanjang sejarah, yaitu 38 kontingen plus 1 dari Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN).
Beberapa rekor baru juga tercipta selama PON XXI, dan antusiasme masyarakat, khususnya dalam acara pacuan kuda di Aceh Tengah, sangat luar biasa dengan jumlah penonton mencapai 120 ribu orang.
Selain dari aspek olahraga, PON XXI memberikan banyak manfaat bagi Aceh, seperti peningkatan infrastruktur, pertumbuhan ekonomi melalui pariwisata dan UMKM, serta promosi budaya lokal. “Acara ini juga menjadi ajang bagi atlet-atlet Aceh untuk menunjukkan prestasi mereka, sekaligus menciptakan rasa kebanggaan sebagai tuan rumah,” ujar Azwardi.
Dalam penutupan tersebut, Azwardi mengucapkan terima kasih kepada seluruh masyarakat Aceh serta semua pihak yang telah berkontribusi dalam menyukseskan acara ini, termasuk Forkopimda Aceh, pemerintah kabupaten/kota se Aceh, terutama 10 kabupaten/kota tempat venue pertandingan cabor PON, panitia penyelenggara, relawan, tenaga kesehatan, serta sponsor dan mitra.
“Tanpa dukungan dan dedikasi dari Anda semua, pencapaian ini tidak akan mungkin terwujud. Sinergi antara pemerintah, masyarakat, dan dunia usaha adalah kunci kesuksesan PON XXI,” ungkapnya.
Azwardi juga mengajak para kontingen yang akan kembali ke kampung halaman untuk membawa kenangan indah dari Aceh. “Kami mengucapkan selamat jalan dan berharap Anda kembali dengan kebanggaan. Jika ada kesempatan, kembalilah mengunjungi Aceh bersama keluarga dan teman-teman. Pintu Aceh akan selalu terbuka lebar untuk Anda,” tutupnya.
