Arusberita.id – Presiden Prabowo Subianto menekankan program makan bergizi gratis bagi anak-anak merupakan bagian vital atau sangat penting dari strategi pemerintah Indonesia saat ini.
Hal itu disampaikan Presiden Prabowo pada pernyataannya saat menghadiri sesi pertama KTT G20, di Brasil, Senin (18/11) waktu setempat.
“Makanan gratis untuk anak-anak kami adalah bagian vital (sangat penting) dari strategi kami, ini juga merupakan bagian dari pemberdayaan generasi muda kami agar bisa mendapatkan manfaat pendidikan,” ujar Presiden Prabowo.
Presiden Prabowo memuji Presiden Brasil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva karena menempatkan isu kemiskinan dan kelaparan sebagai titik fokus sesi pertama KTT G20.
Prabowo menyampaikan baru saja terpilih sebagai presiden di negara dengan populasi terbesar ke-4 di dunia. Oleh karena itu, kelaparan dan kemiskinan bagi Indonesia adalah masalah yang nyata.
“Dalam kehidupan sehari-hari kami masih mempunyai persentase cukup besar penduduk di bawah garis kemiskinan, kami juga melihat 25 persen anak-anak kami kelaparan setiap hari,” terang Prabowo.
Prabowo menyatakan sangat senang bisa terlibat dalam KTT G20. Menurut Presiden, bagi negara seperti Indonesia, mengatasi kemiskinan dan kelaparan merupakan hal yang sangat penting bagi kepentingan nasional.
“Oleh karena itu dalam anggaran saya (APBN Indonesia), saya menghabiskan persentase yang sangat besar untuk pendidikan, karena saya yakin pendidikan akan membawa kita keluar dari kemiskinan. Pendidikan dapat membawa kehidupan yang lebih baik bagi masyarakat kita,” jelasnya.
