Arusberita.id – Presiden Joko Widodo mendorong sekolah kejuruan untuk menjalin hubungan kerja sama yang lebih erat dengan dunia industri.
Dalam kunjungan ke SMK Negeri 2 Palembang, Provinsi Sumatera Selatan, pada Kamis, 26 Oktober 2023, Presiden Jokowi menyatakan keyakinannya bahwa kolaborasi antara sekolah kejuruan dan industri dapat meningkatkan keahlian siswa sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri.
“Saya lihat (sekolah) sudah menjalin hubungan dengan industri, ada pesanan dari sana, ada melatih skill-nya di industri. Saya kira ini yang harus kita bangun,” ujar Presiden.
Presiden Jokowi memberikan apresiasi kepada para siswa yang telah memperoleh keahlian dan keterampilan yang mencerminkan prestasi sekolah, terutama dalam bidang kesenian, perfilman, dan olahraga.
“Kemarin kita dari 51 emas, kita dapat 24 emas untuk skill dalam berbagai bidang keterampilan. Saya kira ini akan sangat bermanfaat. Artinya, SDM kita memiliki keunggulan, dan skill-nya mempunyai keunggulan,” ungkapnya.
Selain memuji prestasi siswa, Presiden Jokowi mengapresiasi SMK Negeri 2 Palembang atas fasilitas pendukung pembelajaran praktik siswa yang memadai. Ia mendorong sekolah kejuruan lainnya untuk terus meningkatkan fasilitas pendukung demi mengasah keterampilan para siswa.
Presiden juga menggarisbawahi pentingnya penyiapan sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang berkualitas dan sejalan dengan pembukaan lapangan kerja yang luas. Ia menegaskan bahwa investasi merupakan salah satu faktor kunci dalam penyerapan tenaga kerja.
Terkait penyerapan tenaga kerja, Presiden Jokowi menegaskan, “Itulah kenapa kita membuka investasi sebesar-besarnya. Itulah yang akan menyerap tenaga kerja, baik dari SMK maupun universitas. Semuanya membutuhkan investasi. Tanpa itu, persiapan SDM yang unggul akan menjadi sia-sia.”
Selama kunjungan tersebut, Presiden Jokowi didampingi oleh Kepala Staf Kepresidenan Moeldoko, Pj. Gubernur Sumatera Selatan Agus Fatoni, dan Pj. Wali Kota Palembang Ratu Dewa. Upaya penguatan hubungan antara sekolah kejuruan dan industri diharapkan dapat menciptakan SDM yang siap bersaing di dunia kerja yang semakin kompetitif.
