Arusberita.id – Menteri Kesehatan (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin mengatakan, kasus Covid-19 yang sedang melonjak drastis di Singapura pasti akan masuk ke Indonesia dalam waktu dekat Pasalnya, Indonesia dan Singapura merupakan negara tetangga, yang mana warganya juga sering bolak balik Indonesia-Singapura.
“Karena Singapura tetangga ya dan traffic-nya antara Singapura dan Indonesia juga cukup tinggi, saya rasa sih pasti akan masuk ke Indonesia yang PK ya, kalau enggak salah variannya,” ujar Budi saat ditemui di Gedung DPR, Selasa (21/5/2024).
Namun, Budi memaparkan, berdasarkan review sementara terkait varian Covid-19 di Singapura, tingkat penularan dan kematiannya sangat rendah. Dia yakin jika kasus Covid-19 di Singapura ini masuk ke Indonesia, pasti tidak mengkhawatirkan.
Apalagi, kata Budi, sebagian besar masyarakat Indonesia sudah disuntik vaksin Covid-19. Selain itu, Budi juga menginstruksikan pihaknya untuk melakukan surveillance.
“Kita lihat, nanti saya akan review biasanya seminggu sekali kita lihat laporan apakah ada varian-varian baru,” jelasnya.
Sementara itu, Budi meminta masyarakat Indonesia tidak perlu panik jika kasus Covid-19 masuk dari Singapura. Sebab, penduduk di Indonesia tidak terlalu berdekat-dekatan, jika dibandingkan dengan Singapura yang padat.
“Yang penting kalau ada demam-demam, batuk-batuk ya langsung tes saja. Tes bisa rapid test, bisa PCR. Kan sekarang sudah banyak. Dan kalau positif ya istirahat,” imbuh Budi.
Sebelumnya, Singapura melaporkan peningkatan kasus Covid-19 pada pertengahan Mei 2024. Diperkirakan jumlah orang yang terinfeksi virus SARS-CoV-2 ini bakal naik signifikan pada akhir Juni 2024.
Menteri Kesehatan (Menkes) Ong Ye Kung mengatakan, sebanyak 25.900 penularan Covid-19 tercatat dilaporkan di Singapura, sepanjang 5-11 Mei 2024.
Jumlah ini meningkat sebesar 90 persen, bila dibandingkan dengan 13.700 kasus pada pekan sebelumnya.
“Gelombang ini akan mencapai puncaknya dalam dua hingga empat minggu ke depan, yang berarti antara pertengahan sampai akhir Juni 2024,” ujar dia, dilansir dari The Straits Times, Sabtu (18/5/2024).
